Transformers Official Transformer Videos Thread

now who is the one "letting the colors and mods or whatever details color (pun intended) your opinion."

I'm only using the arguments you (or ragdus) are using. I see flatnoses all the time. I see long-noses all the time too. Yes, they're more prevalent. But are gaudy tricked out long-noses prevalent AT ALL? No. And which one is truer to Optimus Prime?

Long-noses were around in 1984 also. In fact they made a whole movie about it back in 84 (Maximum Overdrive). None of your arguments hold water. The truck in the movie is ugly, gaudy and not Optimus Prime.

I am not knocking flat nose trucks. I'm saying that thing in the animation isn't the answer you're looking for.

Yes! As opposed to all the other trucks that ARE Optimus Prime!

Argosy's are customizable from the factory. Almost every facet of it can be changed. Go visit their site and peruse their materials before you make a fool of yourself.

Show me one single configuration that addresses the things I have highlighted, and I will paypal you $100

if you can customize one to look like that one or get all the extra components that Ragdus pointed out I will join you and become your apprentice Darth Roach in hatred for this movie

same thing I was saying

I want one now dammit. I'm guessing over there it's Convoy, not Prime.

I take it we're just dropping this then? Or have I made a fool of myself by being correct?

Are you kidding me? You're ridiculous. Fact of the matter is that the statement that fanmade thing is "nowhere seen on the road" is in fact a pretty faithful Freightliner Argosy. Your nitpicking about it notwithstanding.

P.S.
Show me a factory configuration of the truck in the movie... not Andrew Dice Clay's version... and I'll scour the internet to find an older (90's perhaps) Argosy that is more to your liking.

I didn't say the rig from the movie looked exactly like anything, therefor I have no point to try and reinforce. You said the fan video rig looked exactly like an Argosy, and I have thoroughly debunked it; despite your unwillingness to accept it.

But that's not the truck from the actual movie, that's a truck from a fanmade flicko.

You have clearly missed out on what the actual discussion is, but thanks for clearing that up anyway.

You said "It also looks like nothing currently in production, and completely defeats the purpose of being in disguise."

I debunked what you said as well. I proved it flat out wrong. It looks exactly (to me) like a modern-day Argosy... albeit beat up and minus the nitpicking flourishes that you very correctly brought up. So your contention is with my use of "exactly" while mine is with your use of "like nothing."

Well clearly I am defeated. Despite the fact you'd have to make wholesale sweeping changes to any rig that has ever existed to get it to look like that animated truck, the fact that you BELIEVE it's exact neutralizes anything i could possibly present.

Touché.

Your argument is bulletproof.

As is yours (bulletproof).
Using the words "sweeping changes" to make that fanmade truck look like an Argosy... when it obviously already is- albeit in a cheap fanmade video not a multimillion dollar Hollywood movie- instantly makes your argument unquestionable. You're the king.

I can point to very obvious and fundamentally different structural designs of the two pictures. You can easily shut me up by pointing out just how similar they are. Of course, you'll have to overlook the fact that your animated perfection of a truck has a rounded, or possibly angular top half of it's front end but flat bottom half, something no Argosy has or has ever had. You'll also have to overlook the monolithic structure placed over the rear wheels. Also, don't forget to ignore that the doors sit much farther back on any Argosy or similar vehicle that has never had the other things I just pointed out.

Ignoring just a couple of those things, you should have no trouble proving me utterly ignorant in my assessment of your powers of observation.

Nitpicking how a fanmade truck differs in minute details from a modern-day Freightliner Argosy HAS GOT TO BE WORSE than nitpicking about how Prime's truck mode in the movie doesn't look one iota like Prime. It just has to.

It's not nitpicking minor details. It's pointing out blatant, obvious, and NUMEROUS differences between two things deemed "exact." So no, it doesn't "just has to."

If you're going to stake claim to some turf, at least mount a coherent and substantive defense of it that is based on more than your own personal beliefs.
