Are those supposed to be goblins?

Are we going to see some Ultimate Goblin Queen stuff?

Arent they just psychic demons or summet. When they appear they kinda foreshadow jean going off the rails.

Here's another sneak peek at Ult X-Men # 71 over at: http://popcultureshock.com/

Even more reason to drop the title! Once again, Colossus and the crew get owned by the Blob (of all people). And I don't want to hear anything about that this is the "Ultimate" version of the Blob and that he may be a hell of a lot stronger. This is pure Kirkman and Marvel editing at its worst!

Bah!

But it is the Ultimate version of Blob, and you dont know how strong he is. Why is it such a big deal?

I've been out of town, and haven't picked up the last 2 weeks from my list, but if Jamie took down Colossus, thats just pure crap. Ultimate Colossus has done so many crazy things, a couple of guys couldn't take him. WTF!?

Maybe they'd argue that by drawing Colossus as a weakling, it makes him one? This artist is horrible. Its simply the ugliest and worst drawing of Colossus ever. He just looks silver. Didn't two issues ago actually have his hair silver as well?

Such a long wait for #70...and it was terrible. Was anyone else pissed off at the content factor? Oh big whoop, Emma's kids under mind control vs. X-Men. And the fight isn't even over yet. Not to mention a few pages wasted on gathering the X-Men.

This is exactly what I'm talking about when I say that this title has gone "smallball" on us. The ever-changing stable of writers has caused the X-Men to gradually becoming whiny little *****es who can't handle themselves in a fight. Colossus stopped a train, took out Iron Man one-on-one and survived a localized nuke. A few of Madrox's dupes aren't taking him down.

I'm hoping that this arc's totally crappiness is somehow just Elliot screwing with reality. I don't know how a grown man can write such crappy dialogue and fight scenes.

i read this on wikipedia: "Corsair and the Starjammers appeared as a figment in the mind of Cyclops, brought to life by Jean Grey. "Corsair" was the name Cyclops gave to this imagined world."
anyone know what issue that was in?

edit: nevermind.

Question - I'm only 24 issues into this series...has Callisto been introduced in the Ultimate universe yet? Dania's portrayel of her in X3 has me feenin' for a similar Callisto in the comic universe.

nope, and no Morlocks so far either, although there have been stories involving less "flashy" mutants who derided the X-men for being celebrities, although those mutants ended up at Emma Frost's school.

I'm really gettin' tired of seein' my boy Petey gettin' thrashed every month.

Actually, if I remember correctly from reading the issue, I'm pretty sure Colossus' improbable ownage was caused by Elliot. I don't have my copy of the issue on me at the moment, so I can't quote the material word for word, but I believe that when Elliot was trying to convince Scott to let him tag along and help out, one of his arguements for letting him do so was that he said Colossus might already be knocked out by the time they get there, and I believe the words 'knocked out' were in bold. So I think that was suppossed to signify that Elliot had some kind of hand in Colossus' downing, but it was a hint, it obviously wasn't a very good one.

elliot is the magician, right? and i'm pretty sure he's some plant that'll turn on the x-men. his powers are cool, though.

I just re-read all of Kirkman's stuff. I think he is really playing with us on Elliot's part.

He has thrown hints here and there, and I think everything thats happening, including Phoenix(hence the question mark) is happening becuase of Elliot.

And spiderbob, your are right, I thought that too after reading it. Crazy stuff. :hyper:

im still sticking with my theory that Xavier's son Proteus is possessing Elliot's body.

ultimate proteus was kinda bland. i hope he stays dead. i think that elliot was that person jean was talking to at the end of the blockbuster storyline, or it could have been beast. or maybe he'll bring beast back to life. they really gave beast the shaft in the ultimateverse. not really a beast fan but he deserved a better way to die.

Hm, that really wan't a very good hint.

Is it me or does Ultimate X-men kinda suck since Millar left? :-/

BKV's stuff was great. The only worthwhile story Millar did was the very first arc.Other than that,I agree that this title has gone down the crapper along with USM.

I'm still on the fence as to whether I even wanna start reading USM. I've had them all for a long time but not hearing good things.

It's not you. This book has turned into a WB-like teenage soap opera.
