Not completely. Cablerine doesn't have the healing factor. So rumor has it they he may be a clone of Wolverine from the sample that Sabertooth took during the end of Date Night.

if it were up to kirkman cable could be x-23 with a sex change- lets just be glad he's gone

OH MY STARS AND GARTERS WHAT DID I JUST READ?

There is no emoticon to possibly show what I am thinking, feeling, or looking like right now. I can't even... Gah.

Die, Kirkman. Die in a fire. I even said that issue 3 of the arc was somewhat promising, and then I get this load of crap? Oh, look, pictures. At least Jean doesn't look like Lady Sunken Eyes anymore. Oh, and melodramatic "Oh. No. No. It can't be. No. NO!"

*TWITCHES*

This series used to be so good. Its been hard letting it go.

WTF was the point of this arc? Maybe I missed something btu I dont think anything was answered. Cable comes back into the past to kill Profesor X but why? Who exactly is Cable? This had potential but ended up being a waste of 4 issues.

A waste of four issues, you say? From Kirkman? NO. NO. Oh my god. NO. (Mind you, I'm just mimicking the end of the issue to be a dink, ha.) Gosh, just like the Magician arc, just like Date Night was a waste of three...

All we know is that Cable says he's the future version of Wolverine. And from Wolverine's little statements in issues 2-4 of the arc, we can assume that he, himself, believes what Cable told him. Whether Cable really IS Wolverine or is the DNA clone, well, whatever.

Still a crappily executed idea.

OK this Kirkman bashing is really p***ing me off. OK 1st I read somewhere on thie boards I think it was the Uncanny Board that it actually took a few years for 616 Jean to transform from Phoneix to Dark Phoneix!!! There is a hint for ya!!!!!! Maybe just maybe the man will answer the questions in due time. I'm not overly happy with the arcs I'll agree there but the longer the Phoneix stays away the better cause look at that issue in 616. Is it a senitent Force? is it Jean? etc.

In regards to the death. Did he really die or was he taken to the futre? Doctor Who Fans remember the last episode of Seasion 2 with Rose's "death". A random skeleton is left behind that could have some evidence that it is you know who. But Cable is from the futre and has access to tech that this timeline of the Ultimate Universe doesn't.

And maybe he took you know who to the Futre to actually show him the mess he created. OK I know the whole changing of the past issue effects the futre but just bare with me on that point.

We know have a very small team with characters resting for the time beging allowing Kirkman to Develop others more.

End of Rant.

You defended none of the problems we have with Kirkman, so in response to your rant...Kirkman still sucks. :o

But if you really want to, here ya go

The most recent chapter of "What's wrong with Kirkman's Ultimate X-Men"
1. He destroyed a significant part of Wolverine/Sabretooth history by establishing Creed as Logan's son. Wolverine's arch enemy is his son? Thats silly..

2. He destroyed Cable's character. Theres no way this character can be anything but a dead ender now. No, theres no future for Cable in Ultimate Marvel.

3. His Ultimate Phoenix story is cheese extreme. The Phoenix was a cosmic entity that was locked up in a cage created by aliens and the cage eventually developed into planet Earth? Thats just garbage.

4. His dialogue and character development for the characters is blatently contrived. Its obvious hes trying way too hard to make them interesting. The discussions about the play Storm is writing and Charles revealing to Scott that hes in love with Jean are good examples of Kirkman shooting blanks.

5. The Magician arc. Nuff' said..

Yeah. Pretty much what everyone previous has said is the reason I, and most of us, are hating Kirkman's run. To make it simple? It's a lack of interesting things.

Interesting things. In Kirkman's world, this apparently means shock factor. Now, hey, shock has its uses, but in a world where shocking things happen all the time, shock factor tends to either fall short or set a constantly rising bar. But there's a difference between shock factor with bad writing behind it and shock factor with good writing behind it.

Examples (and yes, these are my own opinions): Brubaker killing Banshee in Deadly Genesis was, despite tasteless and mostly meaningless (despite it being pretty much the only thing done with Banshee in some time), shock factor with good writing behind it. Bru's a good writer, and while Deadly Genesis and his current Uncanny arc might have their flaws - well, all writing inevitably will.
Cable-Wolverine, Professor Xavier's secret lust, and Wolverine's bastard child, Earth as a cage... Those are all shock factors here and there, but they're all bad writing. Any of those, theoretically, could be done well. They could be made interesting. No, not all four at once can be made interesting. No, Magician is not interesting. Magician sucked. The other ideas could hold promise, but in Kirkman's unsteady hands, unfortunately do not. Might I also point out that, of those four, I know for certain that at least two of them suffered from the "shock ending" syndrome. This is the idea in writing that you start a chapter with a shock or end a chapter with a shock - and while this is a good technique when used sparingly, when used constantly it becomes a constant and boring feature. I just don't remember where in their issues Sabretooth and Lilandra let the figurative cats out of their bags.

We might all think anyone who likes Kirkman on this book is messed up, but hey, it's your opinion. I just don't know how in the world you can come to have it. :woot:

As for Vaughan's run being bad... Wow. I don't know, just off the top of my head, I can think of three hugely interesting things he did - introducing Ultimate Longshot, which was done infinitely better than the introduction of Ultimate Cable (it's almost like comparing a pristine apple to a rotton one), introducing and expanding upon Emma's school and the characters there (Havok, Polaris, Cannonball, Northstar, Sunspot, Doug Ramsey) which was similarly handled much better than Ultimate Cable or Magician or Date Night, and the ending arc... What was it, Magnetic North? This arc was a huge grand finale, and set a great landmark for the title. ... Which is why I hope Kirkman doesn't touch it with a thirty foot pole.

Oh boy:

1. COLOSSUS! Remember the guy who beat up Thor and IronMan in Ultimate War? Yeah, I do. He's the same guy getting tossed around by the Blob and detained by freaking Multiple man. Write the damn character better and stronger.

2. His Jean Grey makes me sick. She's not as crazy as she is emo and annoying. I can dig the goblins but c'mon.

3. The way the Magician arc ended was ridiculous. He had the same powers as Proteus(pretty much) and the Proteus arc was much more entertaining and it ended waay better.

4. Charles in love with Jean :whatever: I know it's an old 616 conecept but I could have lived without seeing this Ultimized.

5. He's totally killed the Iceman character for me. Bobby hasn't done anything badass or even memorable since Kirkman got behind the reigns. Same goes for Storm really.

Kirkman is rockin my socks off in Ant-Man. I don't know what other books he writes off the top of my head but you'd think Kirkman wrote Ant-Man first thing in the morning after a nutritious breakfast and after a night of clubbing and drug abuse, he comes home and writes UXM.

Was this ever proven as fact? I was under the impression that Sabes threw this out to throw Logan off guard so he could get his blood. We don't know that this is absolute fact, right?

Do we know what the next arc will be called or what it's going to be about?
The next one is a two-issues one and it's called "Aftermath", dealing with the events in "Cable", the next is "Cliffhanger" (1 issue) and then we'll have "All Different" (I don't know how many issues), when we'll see a new ultimized character.

I kind of like this last issue. I wasn't "Magnetic North" but it wasn't "Magical" either. I just hope the next issues keep getting better.
