The Dark Knight Oh G-d NO! Its rumors like this that have a way of coming true!

Batman suffers from enough gay jokes already. This is tragic. Just stop. God.

Relax...Jake's agent publicly denied the rumor.

Actually, it following what many Jewish leaders had previously started doing. Spelling it that way to:

Specify that we are referring to THE GOD worshipped by Jews, Christians, and Muslims

and

Because we recognize clearly that the opposite spelling is DOG. So while no offense to dogs, we just choose to write it that way out of respect and love for our creator.

It doesn't offend me to see it spelt out by others, I just don't choose to write it like that for the reasons above.

Dude, this rumor has been brought up before, it´s just another rumor being tossed around. I had never even heard of this site before this, so I wouldn´t put too much stock in that. There were tons of rumors ten times more stupid than this about BB and they didn´t come true - Egghead, anyone?

Personally, I fail to see what is so utterly ridiculous about casting a very talented young actor for this part.

Are we really this insecure about a BM reference? One, that's already played out by now, and will surely be nothing but a vague memory come '08?

This won't happen. Nolan is smart enough to know how gimmicky this would come across as.

I'm confused.

What's so gimmicky? Two actors are in a movie after just being in a highly talked about oscar-winning film. No biggie.

Yes, because having a Oscar Nominated actor in a film is always a bad thing.

Yeah. Besides, already there are more than enough "Batman is gay" puns out there so it's not like it's going to make a huge difference. The film will speak for itself. Everything else is just inane blabbering.

Exactly, let the film do it's job. Not like Heath and Jake (if cast) would be sharing much screentime together anyway.

Normally, I wouldn't have a problem with it. But considering the film is Brokeback Mountain, which quickly became imbedded into pop culture through various jokes and negative press (not talking about reviews and overall reaction to the film itself), it comes off as a bit gimmicky to cast the two main actors of that movie in two very important parts.

I myself am pushing for either Schreiber or DiCaprio.

Yeah, right. A wrestler as Egghead... LMAO.

It's only a gimmick if the sole reason Nolan cast Jake was to attract hype and cause a ruckus. Otherwise, it's a simple coincedence. And like I said before, it's the film's job to make sure TDK stands on it's own, and not a reunion of BM.

I myself am pushing for either Schreiber or DiCaprio.
I wouldn't mind those choices either. It's just annoying as hell everyone is so afraid of this BM connection. Chances are, no one will be talking about it in 2 years time. People find new things to talk about, the media is a fast paced outlet.

The only people that reference Batman gay jokes are fans of the comic(more so the old comics). The fans of Batman comics make up a very small amount of the Batman movie audience.

As if the Oscars actually celebrate quality. For that matter let's have Ben Affleck and Matt Damon write The Dark Knight, they actually won oscars for their writing.

So you are trying to say that Jake Gyllenhaal is a poor actor?

I'm saying he's an ok actor, but that an Oscar nomination means nothing in terms of quality, So you bringing up his nomination is pointless. The only reason he would be cast is because he's popular.

Pretty irrational thing to say. What's the basis of thinking that?
