If you can't take death threats, criticism, etc.... You shouldn't be a reviewer, well, like there should be reviewers anyway.....

Why should a reviewer have take death threats? No one should have to accept that, especially from people who are old enough to know how to have a debate, but instead act like whining 8 year olds. The reviewer should accept peoples difference of opinion. Like ''Hey I don't agree with you, I don't think you're right about this'' but when it turns to death threats then that's crossing the line.

And yes there should be reviewers. They are not ''Idiots'' or ''people who have no taste'', they are people like you and me who have an opinion on films.

i did the stupidest thing by bashing some reviewer before i had even seen the movie....thinking i was gonna think it was 20 out of 10 and flawless.

Oh, so none of the fanboys of other franchises who keep coming here for no other reason than to constantly try to point out flaws in the movie in a trollish way, that keep saying TDK is only been so successful becasue of Ledger´s death and even sometimes make some distasteful remarks about his death, none of those crossed any lines? BTW, some Marvel fanboys also did similar attacks to critics who made negative comments about the Spider-Man movies, the X-Men movies, etc.

ugh, the internet. i just think it's strange this guy has never gotten death threats before....or is it just because TDK is so big that he figured now was the time to publicize it? i find it hard to believe that TDK fanboys are any crazier than spiderman/x-men/hulk fanboys, and if he gave TDK a bad review, he would have to have given SM3, X-Men 3 and both Hulk films bad reviews, right? because personally i think even if you hate TDK you have to admit it's better than those films...or you don't.

which leads me to- lunar_wolf, you say film is a subjective experience, and then proceed to say "remember, TDK is not a perfect film"...do you see anything wrong with that?

Now I say the Dark Knight is the best movie in a long time, and yes I yell at people who don't like it (thoiugh the only people I know who don't like it havent seen it) But to get to the point where you actually send a guy death threats, thats ridiculous

A Johnny-Come-Lately bandwagonner who couldn't care less about the Batman franchise, and only likes the Joker because, in his gothtard fantasy mind, he believes this incarnation of the Joker to be oh so "dark" and "gothic" simply because the guy has a white painted face. The fact that he's a clown and always has been couldn't matter less to a person like this poser you seem to be lumping us all in with. If you've got proof that he's a hardcore Batman fan taking things too far, then that's different, but he comes across as nothing less than a wannabe.

It's not TDK fans........it's stupid people in general. TDK is the hottest thing right now. So they jump on the bandwagon. Come back here 6 months after the DVD comes out and find one of those crazy people. You won't.

And as a side note; please note that the movie wasn't perfect..........for you. For some of us it was.

Ridiculous, though not surprising. Some people think that only their outlook on a film or a certain band is the "right" one. To some extent that's true, it's right to them. But a film reviewer shouldn't have to worry about death threats. Seriously, are people that low? Granted, the sender of said Death threat is probably some goth-teen who actually has no knowledge of Batman. That doesn't make it right.

The only reason I brought The Dark Knight fan madness up is because I write for my site and this was on topic with a few sites. I'm not saying these certain TDK fans are the only fans to cause a ruckus, many fans from many different franchises do it. Right now TDK is still massive and to be honest I've never seen such mass hysteria over someones review like this in a good while. So I want to use this current bat-madness to bring up the topic to show how far fans take things and how fans need to stop harassing this guy for having an opinion.

Also I'm not saying all TDK fans are like this. It's just a majority acting this way. Hell I'm a massive TDK fan, but some are crossing the line right now.

You can't stop death treats but the fact this reviewer is resiving them is beyond ridicuious.

They just don't get paid for having an opinion, they are getting paid for writhing up good pieces and providing information to the world. Critics put time and effort into withing. Hell most of them have to sit through **** movies like Paris Hilton's 'The Hottie and the Nottie'-that's worth getting paid for in my opinion. Are some critics arrogant pigs? Yep. But not all. You really need to find one who has similar tastes in movies as you, then let's say you want to see two movies and you can only go see one, which one do you want to see? Looking at reviews and seeing whats more popular or is the reviewer you normally agree with has to say about both movies you want to see. If you don't like reading reviews then that's cool, it's not for everyone.
