The Dark Knight Some Dark Knight fans have crossed the line

If you don't like this ''******ed'' thread then simply don't post in here.

It won't be closed by your ignorant demand. People are having conversations here, unlike you who can't.

I agree with your points, Lunar. Death threats are not called for.

Awww...it's just like the Joker wants...death threats, people stealing (or attempting to) wearing facepaint, etc etc.

I think "reviewers" shouldn't be reviewing movies about characters that they don't understand. Are you telling me that somebody thinks Nolan and WB could of made a more true to the character type of Batman movie?

That's asinine.

eh, whadda ya expect? and i for one think its a relevant topic. over-hype that ends up ostracizing more rational die hard fans. its not like the TDK forum in general hasn't been a bit...well lets say 'messy' since its release.

You don't need to have read Batman comics to get the character in the movies. Begins and Knight tells us who Batman is and what he stands for. To get the character in the movie or the comics is not hard to understand.

If anyone has been surfing the internet for any length of time, you know empty threats are pretty standard, so these sorts of reactions just do not bother me at all. I mean really, do you think the people doing the threatening will actually follow through? Maybe if they were the Joker this might be true.

Same. With the internet, its so easy (not that I'm ruling out the possibility of someone's intention). Death threats are more common in phone calls and hand written letters, by tradition...

Kind of ironic.

I wonder if Nolan and crew are a little bit disturbed by these recent events (the guy who was arrested who was dressed in Joker make up, for example).

The only thing that sickens me about this is how cool the little twerp making the death threats probably felt for wanting to copy a fictional sicko.

Hmmmm....this thread is about obnoxious Batfans acting rude.....and just look at your post.......

I love, love, love this movie - but I can tolerate others' opinions. It's what makes discussions and debates fun. Love a movie, hate a movie. I love respectful fans. And I don't mind an occasional bad review. I'm sure even Citizen Kane and the Godfather have some bad reviews.

Anyway, the world would be a pretty boring place if everyone had the same opinion.

This is where I give Chris Nolan a ton of credit because he took as much soul from the Comics/Graphic Novels/TAS as he could and implemented it into his franchise. It really gives the people who have basic Batman knowledge a revealing perspective on who Bruce Wayne and Batman really are, as well as the other characters.

But, there is so much more to Batman than BB/TDK can possibly tell. That's like saying I could watch a couple of movies about building a car and then act like I know everything about how cars are built.... then start writing reviews about them when I really have no business writing about cars in the first place.

I have no problem with reviews, just when it's by someone who doesn't have any business reviewing a certain type of genre, especially one that they don't fully understand. Of course they're going to give it a poor review if that's the case. For the future, I suggest these people who review movies should do their homework first (Graphic Novels, Comics, TAS) before they make themselves look like idiots.

The Dark Knight is a cultural phenomenon and quite possibly the greatest movie of this decade for a reason.

The reviewer crossed the line first, sir. He squeezed The Dark Knight, he hammered fans to the point of desperation. And in their desperation they turned to a man they didn't fully understand

So anyways its his opinions. Ha

Its the internet don't take it seriously.

A person shouldn't have to have read the comics to know the film. Why? Because if a Batman film was stricly made so that comic book readers would only get it, then there would be no point of the non-comic readers to view it because they wouldn't understand these characters and causing the movie to flop. A film that's adaptated(if done right) should tell us everything we need to know about the characters. Nolan has done an amazing job by this, but still giving us comic book readers little nods like Joker making up different stories about his past, just like how in The Killing Joke, the joker wasn't sure of his own origin.

Nolan didn't stick to the comics that much, only the spirit of it. Joker was perama white, never cut scars into his face and was more insane in the comics. Harvey-Dent had acid tossed at his face, not burnt. Harvey was married, he never dated Rachel, hell she never even appeared in the comics.

Seriously.....anyone who doesn't like this film is gonna get slashed up and expanded aggressivly!! i wont take people giving their own opinions, i find it a disgrace. If they have a different opinion than me then they are gravely mistaken.

WHY SO SERIOUS?

I heard all the same "death threats against critics" thing about Spider-Man, Star Wars, etc. It´s a silly geeky thing that just blows over. Any seasoned reviewer knows that it´s not for real.

I'm afraid it's you who's making a fool of yourself, dear sir. Film critics review films, the way the characters are portrayed in the film and so on. If the film has to rely on comics and animated shows to give people full understanding of their characters and plots, it's a bad film.

P.S. I'm not saying TDK is a bad film.

Strange, I haven't heard of them for those movies. And there are more of a couple of reviewers that got hate mail from these morons.
Really, I'm starting to think that the web really make people stupid. That would explain why Bush got re-elected.

bush got re-elected because he is a pillar of the community. ALL HAIL WAR-LORD GEORGE BUSH

What's the point of this topic? Do you really thing that critics feel their lives are in danger over a fanboy in the internet? It's not the first time they get this kind of feedback. And believe me, not the last. This topic is irrelevant. Here in Portugal we had a critic stating he wishes Schummacher would return over Nolan. He has a website (from a respected daily Newspaper) and you cant imagine the kind of negative feedback, including insults. Myself had to post my view over this ******ed fellow. But it's the way of the internet. It's so simple to have an opinion (everybody cant write in a forum or a blog these days) that it must be prepared for the backfire. If someone would beat up these critics, or take some action in person, that would be going too far. Anything else that is only written over the safety of the internet, thats just a waste of time. Critics must deal with this, and sometimes they do it just to tease a fanbase. They know it's like this. The ******ed critic here has done it just to increase the feedback in his website. To me this topic is irrelevant, because you shouldn't have to insult anybody and we should all get along in a civilized way... but we dont live in a perfect world, do we?

These people who write in "hate mail" to a critics becasue they are fans of The Dark Knight are the same kind of fanatics from the movie that would dress up as Batman to fight crime in Hockey Pads. :cwink:

Even though you appear to be having a love affair with this word....I suggest you stop using it. It's rather juvenile.
