The Dark Knight Some Dark Knight fans have crossed the line

Ahhh - C. Lee, I could read your posts all day :D

If you can't take death threats, criticism, etc.... You shouldn't be a reviewer, well, like there should be reviewers anyway.....

Or any form of journalist, god this happens all the time. It's still wrong in so many ways...but there are some serious mental people out there.

And probably on here, but we forgive them if they send me TDK Viral things that they don't want.

Preferably not blood stained...

The only reason I brought The Dark Knight fan madness up is because I write for my site and this was on topic with a few sites. I'm not saying these certain TDK fans are the only fans to cause a ruckus, many fans from many different franchises do it.

I think what puts me off is the fact that you insinuate all Dark Knight fans have been sending in death threats, which is quite untrue. I haven't sent one nasty email to the nasty, negativist critics.

We hammered the good reviewers for good reviews, and in their desperation, they turned to reviewers we don't fully understand. Some reviewers aren't looking for anything good, some reviewers just wanna watch total crap

I'm sorry, but why is some unknown lowbar film critic taking groundless "Death Threats" from obsessive fans on the Internet of all places seriously? Until he gets a bomb in his mail or a dead cat nailed to his door, grow a spine and suck it up Mr. "professional reviewer".

Honestly this sounds like this reviewer is fishing for more cheap attention and press and antagonising even more of the die-hard fans than he stirred in his initial negative review. He's such a rebel. No, he probably as pathetic as any troll here. Don't give the chump any more attention than he deserves, especially when he starts lumping us all together as "geeks" and "fanboys" and such.

Hey Godzilla200, I'm a Dark Knight fan too, I'm not lumping all of into one group, like the post title says ''SOME dark knight fans have crossed the line'' not ALL!!!

Hey Guys....Just got done writing my death threat for Today And Th....

Oh....

*Leaves*

Its funny because from his review it doesn't sound like he even watched the film.

Reviewers can be Trolls too...

"Hey, no one is paying attention to my well written thoughtful reviews. Maybe I need to change my tactics so I can become a bigger name critic... Hey, I know! I'll slam the new Batman film! Ohh, then I'll say I'm getting death threats from those fools who dress up and go to the premire! Since everyone loves it, I'll stand out, and I can get a job writing for EW or Star Magazine! I'm a freaking Genius!"

Just my view and opinion on this situtation.

First off let me just say that The Dark Knight was a fantastic film. Was it perfect? No. Did it have it's flaws? Yes. Still the sequel to Batman Begins is my number one favorite flick this year. All-in-all I loved The Dark Knight. But apparently if you hated it you are less than a person, you are scum, you are everything that a child raping satanist is. Well that's what some Dark knight fans think.

A film critic named Keith Uhlich wrote up his review on the flick back in July. It was a negative review. What happened next? People started ripping this guy a new *******. Not only was he bombarded with name calling, but he also received death treats like this one that I found on joblow:

''You know, some people have been so enraged by your little opinion piece that they want you to kill yourself. Please DON'T!!! You know why, because I am going to have so much fun killing you myself! I promise, it WON'T be painless. I am going to carve a smile in your face. And then I am going to carve you stomach. And you know why? Because i just want my phone call. You're my ***** now! I am going to track you down through your IP address and then I am going to f@#%!%* kill you!!!''

This kind of mentality pisses me off about The Dark Knight fans. Because like I said The Dark Knight was not a perfect movie. Remember film is subjective. That's the wonderful thing about it, we all see films in a different way, like looking at a piece of art at a museum. We all have a opinion on it. But if some ******* comes along thinking his opinion is superior than everyone else's then **** that person, that person looses all respect and credibility to me.

Look at things this way. I don't agree with Keith Uhlich, but I respect that he has to say. He saw things different and that's great for him, more power to him. But personal attacks are low and disrespectful.

Have respect for other peoples opinions on films. Because opposite views on a film can spark fun conversations, it doesn't have to be heated and ugly.

He crossed the line first.

It's a shame that somebody would go that far over a movie.

i think its fully justifiable to send death threats to people who give negative reviews. if their opinion isn't the same as mine then they must perish.

Strange, I haven't heard of them for those movies. And there are more of a couple of reviewers that got hate mail from these morons.
Really, I'm starting to think that the web really make people stupid. That would explain why Bush got re-elected.

You kidding? I heard of that a lot when these movies came out, especially the first Spider-Man and the SW prequels.

The paranoia of some of the repliers is fascinating. There are some people in this thread projecting a little bit, I think. :woot:
