Sequels Oh... the Possibilities

It's a matter of execution. If it is written and produced to be cartoonish and comical ala...Ghost Rider and the FF films....then it will be cartoonish. If they do it with a sense of making a pure EPIC in mind. Then they will have an EPIC film(s).
i agree and i like ver much your idea. unfortunately, WB still have no idea how to do a GOOD superman movie. EPIC? still too far away.

I think it would be a great idea as well. To have the Supes sequels ending hint and lead to Darkseid and have Supes needed "others" with special powers to help in fighting Darkseid in a JLA film. Can you imagine the great bizz the supes sequel would get and how much anticipation would be caused for the JLA continuation film? It's a great idea and lets hope WB's will see how much potential such a vision has!

Agree

Chud didn't mention or hint at Darkseid did he? I don't recall that.

No, CHUD didn't. Villain did with, "what Dark Seed is being planted". Oh jeeezzz... give me a break.

Great read though....

:super: Fans of the Man of Steel, these are indeed, exciting times. News on the progression of the sequel to “Superman Returns” are beginning to filter out of the vault, also known as, Warner Brothers. Rest assured, the sequel is on track for a 2009 release. However, due to mounting questions about this article, let me clarify one item that appear to be misconstrued by some of the readers, due to no fault of their own.

Fact: There are on going discussions about linking the propose JLA project to the “Superman Returns” sequel, being directed by Bryan Singer. VillainWatch were under the impression that Mike Dougherty and Warner Brothers would be confirming the sequel, at the 2007 Comic Con in San Diego; with the big news being, its linkage to JLA. That announcement maybe still yet to come, but information to the such, has already started to leak out, in one form or another. However to clarify, it’s just what it is, a link…. nothing more than that.

Both Superman: Man of Steel and the JLA project are being treated as separate entities. By no means, did we intend to give the impression that JLA will relate directly to the Superman sequel. It is our understanding that the linkage is a result of this undisclosed draft, that seem to be floating around the halls at Warner Brothers, and an ending cliffhanger involving a major super villain, who story is then develop and play out in the proposed JLA project. JLA is preliminary being slated for 2010.

and it thickens.....

Either way...I still think having the SR sequels story or ending be a LEAD into the JLA film....would be a great idea!

It would most likely make the fans happy and at the sametime it would make WB's a CRAP load of money IMO. Just as long as they do not go overboard with budgets. Keep them both under the 170 million area.

Interesting to say the least.

I dont know what to think. He posts stuff, then leaves.

What the hell...why does he write all of his posts as if he is a tabloid reporter...

Well we know how this works. If what he is saying is true, and this stuff is leaking, we'll know through the media within two or three days.

He has been a member here for over 2 years, but only has 25 posts. hmmmmmm.

I've been a member here for like 5 years and only have.. oh yeah they banned my old sn :-/ All I did was make a thread in the spidey forum about future spidey sequels would be better not borrowing from Superman elements... Uhh anyways.

If something similar to this hits the net as news in a couple of days, then all I will be able to say is wow.

News always seems to come out on tuesdays or wednesdays... who knows what the future holds  :)

Btw has anyone discussed that Singer may actually do better with a JLA film? I hate to bring up his X-men movies but he can handle multiple characters well. Hmm... Let the plot thicken ;)

This would be huge news after a dormant summer of nothing. Truth be told this guy may be on to something. There has to be some sort of news coming soon maybe this is just it. There has to be a lot of discussion about what direction Warner goes in. Things do leak out.

I swear in 5 years on and off the hype... EVEN with a new Superman movie having been made, things never change! Always reason to be suspicious of development with Superman projects. BAH

This part especially interests me...a major supervillain for the sequel AND he would carry over to a J.L. film.
wonder who that could be.;)

OOh OOh OOh....I want to know..I want to know.

JL would have to begin with a credible threat to the world. Something to unite these heroes and those egos. Darkseid fits the mold. He provides that big splash everyone wants.

Exactly.....and news on this has been leaking....i think Villain has some inside info.

Through him...

News on this has been leaking without a doubt.

WB's,

Just do the SR sequel film and have the ending be a lead into the JLA film with George Miller directing.

JUST DO IT....and make the damn films EPIC!!

I agree with the both of your posts. we shall see how this plays out.

Good thinking. :cwink:
