Jim Helwig on Savage:

PWInsider.com

Former WWF champion The Ultimate Warrior posted the following videos in tribute to the late Randy Savage. Savage faced Warrior in what was likely the best match of Warrior's career at Wrestlemania VII. While Warrior often had negative things to say about those he dealt with in the industry, he often spoke highly of Savage and his respect for him. Thanks to Mike for passing these along:

Too late. :cwink:

The following exchange went down on Twitter Sunday night:

@TheRock: In the famous "I QUIT" match, I handcuffed Mick Foley and bashed his face 14xs w a steel chair. He bled. I won. #OverTheLimit

@realMickFoley: Maybe so, but 2 days later, I trapped @TheRock under a pallet of beer kegs to win the WWE strap in an Empty Arena Match aka TNA house show.

Wow! Are Foley and TNA on bad terms now?

There is one silver lining to tye ending of over the limit.

Apparently, a rock bottom which kept cena down for a 3 count at wm27, is more powerful than a 30 minute beatdown with steel chairs, steel briefcases, steel steps, TV monitors, kendo sticks, leathers belts, and kicks off of stages.

The Rock got a major push from last nights match.

Bret Hart Remembers Randy Savage (Video), Hall of Famers To Discuss Savage

By Daniel Pena
May 23, 2011 - 3:41:30 PM

-- WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart commented on the passing of Randy Savage hours after learning of the news.

"He was so loved and respected by everyone, especially the ones that worked with him," Hart said of his former colleague. "I think we're all feeling a real deep sense of loss. He was such a good man and somebody that we all loved and cared about so much. Randy was a real one-of-a-kind guy.

"I don't know how much you can explain how much of a loss this is to the wrestling world. We've lost so many wrestlers over the years and in this case at least, I feel a little better knowing God checked Randy out rather than something like drugs or something like that."

I've been pretty quiet in the thread as of late, needed a reason to post, whether it was here already or not.

Just give us that NDX charm we all know and...love

I've a headache and missed work today, so no money made. Not all that "charming" at the moment.

You would think he'd want to help build up the company........

There is no helping that company with Dixie Carter and her crew running things.

You could always just ''LOOK AT MY AVATAR! LOOK AT IT! Let it hypnotize you....''

Knew something happened last night. Chavo was favoring the knee last night. Wonder if that caused the botch.

Im hoping that it is a shrinking trend.....the days of guys ending up in wrestling because they have nothing else are slowly dwindling

Good that Christina only had a sprain, but I don't see how she'll really be able to continue much.

Ok, the look on Austin's face when Demott called for a group hug was priceless. :lmao:

That it was. I hope Rock insults each of them one by one.

Thats not really the cause of the problem though. Plenty of people still end up in wrestling despite having opportunities elsewhere. Looking at the veterans who have died it was the schedule and the pace lifestyle that finally caught up with many of them. All those stars needed a "pick me up" (and I don't mean coffee) after all that travel and wear and tear. Many lived life on the edge too.

Lance Cade bucks then trend and shows the problem still exists on some level because he was not only a star of THIS era but twenty years younger than most of the wrestlers that died recently. A 29 year old dying is more bizarre to me a 45 year old. Umaga wasn't even 40. Test wasn't even 35.

The trend might ease up one day because WWE itself is cracking down and the schedule is a little lighter and the mentality of many of todays stars is not to party like a rockstar while on the road. Thats whats going to change things.

But the physical toll is still there. The hectic schedule, the bumps, the mental fatigue...not to mention the escape of drugs if certain people really want them. Even prescribed drugs can be abused.

Just because someone stops and gets a cushy office job after they've lived out their wrasslin dream doesn't mean the pain from 2 destroyed knees and a busted up spine stops immediately. Thats got to make it easier to fall into that substance trap. Some take them to ease the pain then it ends up being more and more.

Even if people have more opportunities outside of wrestling or after wrestling they can still get hooked on stuff DURING their time in wrestling and those demons can follow them long after the lights have dimmed on their careers.

Oh you've never had to try very hard before. It usually comes natural.
Brain pain makes things... something. I dunno, I think I just started seeing in black and white. That's probably bad.

As for Tough Enough, dead air is a good description of Christina.

This... this is so sad to watch. Outside of our darkhorse, Jeremiah.

Yeah, all those tours were painful aside from Jeremiah's. AJ and Andy were just there, Christina didn't help escape her flaky and airheaded assumptions people get when they see her, and Luke just came off as the usual tool that he is with his attempts at jokes that no one got or thought were funny.

Its a part of it...the reason some guys stayed in the business way too long was because they had nothing else

"No tv and no beet make Homer something something..."

Christina is the last thing WWE needs. They already have plenty of fluffy pony loving princesses like her.

Yes, the days of guys appearing on tv and getting more money then most of us will ever see and international fame because they are talentless and can't achieve anything else are dwindling.

Weird how that worked out back in the day...
