Its a part of it...the reason some guys stayed in the business way too long was because they had nothing else

A lot of those guys problems got bad when they were in their primes. And even when some got out they stil died from those problems.

Luna Vachons been retired for years and we saw what happened to her.

Its that lifestyle while they are on the road thats the problem. That lethal mix of prescription drugs like muscle relaxers, booze, cocaine, and roids is like a time bomb with a set fuze.

And even when people quit the business they don't give up that cocktail cold turkey.

Yes, the days of guys appearing on tv and getting more money then most of us will ever see and international fame because they are talentless and can't achieve anything else are dwindling.

Weird how that worked out back in the day...

I didn't mean it that way and you know it

what I meant was, in the world of athletics...pro wrestling is considered the bottom of the barrel....guys who played HS and college ball but just weren't good enough for the NFL, or maybe were third string/practice squad guys in the pros but didn't make it....hell Randy Savage played Single A ball for a few years

and then you have guys like Buff Bagwell and Sean Waltman who (by their own admission) have never had a real job or any real education, been wrestling since they were 18 or 19 and don't have any other road to take

Jakes promo would have been great other than the big bad wolf part...

Nice Saliva reference...

We've seen it happen to a lot of wrestlers who were clean for years and still keeled over dead out of nowhere. Hawk, Eddie, we could be here a while figuring out who and what and when.

Oh no...I TOTALLY agree with you...I wasnt trying to be a jerk.

Its just...how freaking weird is it that a talentless guy can pick a last resort career and end up world famous and rich???

Orton vs Christian was an excellent match, I liked bearded Smackdown Orton. Cole getting his comeuppance was fun, especially the Bret cameo. Other than that Over The Limit was filled with mediocre matches.

The main event was laughably bad, it wasn't a match, it was Cena playing Rambo in First Blood Part II for 20 tedious minutes before mounting a dull comeback and completely no selling the deluge of punishment laid upon him while making Miz look worse than ever by making him quit in 90 seconds flat, joke of a match. The only high point was the great character work from Miz, which belonged on Raw not PPV.

That was a cool touch from Punk, it even got a crowd response.

and for every Hulk Hogan or Rock, we have ten Chris Candidos or Bam Bam Bigelows

or you get lucky and you end up somewhere in the middle

Like I said its a time bomb inside these guys waiting to go off. Men of a certain age already have risks of heart attack. That wrestling lifestyle only compounds it. They could have damage they don't even know about.

And for the wrestlers that do still use: cocaine for a pick me up and somas to come back down isn't always something they can turn off like a light switch even when they do retire.

WWE is doing the right thing by trying to discourage that lifestyle.

but then with those egos comes that whole "it's not gonna happen to me" attitude, I figured with Lance Cades death, THAT would bring about some serious shift in the mentality

Its the strange circus world of wrestling...especially WWE. Look at Mason Ryan. Its sort of like Hollywood only worse. No talents can be huge stars there too if they have a certain look.

Hey now...thats an insult to Rambo :hehe:

Theres that. Some guys know the risk and are willing to take it no matter what. Thinking about now instead of the future. Its that strange cult world of some wrestling companies.

I get that hesitance about Mason Ryan...but does anyone here think he has some potential?

Damn, I was impressed by AJ, finally.

I see nothing, but I said the same about Drew CrapIntyre and he's recently made me a fan. Same with Chris Masters.

He probably saved himself with that.

Christina's done. She's hurt and can't work in the ring because of it, and completely floundered in all the challenges this week.

If he can evolve past being a Bastista clone I can see him doing well.

Loved Rock on this episode. :awesome:

At least for one more week.

Had Martin not been injured last week, she wouldn't be on the air right now.

Luke barely missed the bottom three this week.

Damn Tough Enoughs really getting down to the nitty gritty.

I think its Lukes game to lose at this point.
