The Avengers Ok Guys...Shall we talk DVD/Blu-ray?

Are there any DVDs that actually do that? I've wanted that feature before but usually these deleted scenes are always a separate feature where you have to look wistfully at what could have been.
There HAVE been. I don't recall what movies tho.
There ARE dvd player programs for computers that can do that, but I'm not sure if the blu-ray versions can. I want to add All the Blu-Ray Thor scenes back in but only have a DVD player on my laptop. :(

They are SO easy to get though! I order all of my Steelbooks on Amazon's UK site, and many times they are cheaper than what they would be here in the US. You should look on there sometime. They have all kinds of Steelbooks! The only downfall (if you want to call it that) is that the alternate title will be on the cover. For example, The Avengers will have Avengers Assemble on the cover. Other than that, it's freaking awesome!

In fact you go to the website and just simply search for "steelbook blu ray" and you get all this......

Edit: One other thing. The Blu Rays will actually be Region Free, while the DVD (if one is included) will not be. So you won't be able to use the DVD, unless you have a Region Free DVD player.
Oh really? Wow, thanks didnt know that. I wish I had looked intot his earlier as I have well over 100 BRs now. Oh well, will definetly be on the lookout in the future. One thing I read though about ordering foreign BRs, while they may be region free some of the special features may not be, especially if they werent encoded in HD. Thats one concern Id have

Off the top of my head....

BUCKAROO BANZAI.....a deleted scene of young Buckaroo seeing the death of his parents while attempting the same experiment he does at the beginning of the movie...it can be watched separately and you have the option to add it to the beginning of the movie or not to add it in

There are a few more I know that did it....I just can't remember at the moment.

This is similar but not exactly what was talked about -
SUPERMAN the Movie.....for the DVD they added in several previously deleted scenes back into the movie....but you can also go to a separate area and watch them by themselves.

I know about a Terminator II DVD from Thailand my cousin owns. It's an awesome feature. In general it's possible.

Apart from this I have an edition of Dune from 1984 with the theatrical version and a version with the deleted scenes inserted.

The original X-Men 1 dvd release had a branching feature that allowed you to watch deleted scenes reinserted back into movie. I don't remember if the Blu-Ray is like that or not though cause its been so long since I have watched it.

I ...personally like to see more of Cobie...*closes his eyes* wait for it...*opens his eyes* Smulders as Maria Hill...now I've never really been an avengers fan until I saw the movie which by the way was awesome. but...I wonder if she'll be in any future installments because that would be...kinda nice.

I've always liked Maria Hill in the comics :o she takes no crap :woot:

This movie is going to be a feast to watch over again on Blu-ray.

Well I hope Cobie smulders returns as Marie Hill...she'll take crap from no body :D ;)

Players arent that expensive these days. You can get one from Amazon marketplace for like $40

We're a family of 5 with a ***** of a mortgage. £40 is apparently expensive ;)

That may be in rare cases. I haven't run into one yet that I haven't been able to watch. To be honest though, I really wouldn't worry yourself over that.

If you have any questions about it, feel free to PM me anytime. :yay:

Such a pity. You should upgrade soon because movies look incredible on it.
Yes Blu Ray movies do look incredible, but ya kind of need to have a HDTV in order to take full advantage of the technology. It defeats the purpose of a Blu Ray player if you don't have a HDTV to watch it on.

So true.I watched one bluray and i knew i had to go bluray from that point on.The clarity,crispness of detail and the sound actually reminds you of watching a movie in the theater esp if you have a HTS ( Home theater system)
Believe it or not TF:DOTM looks really really good on bluray and the audio is great.

You are preaching to the choir my friend. Home Theater Technology is a passion of mine. I currently have a 7.1 system setup (which I am hopefully going to be upgrading soon) with a 65" 3D DLP HDTV. The 3D is phenominal as well. Talk about being totally immersed in that world!

I'm hoping for a really long effects reel. The effects reel on thor was as disgrace.

In depth look at the effects for

* Thor's hammer
* Hulk
* Helicarrier
* Iron Man's new suit
* Aliens

Steelbook from Brazil (Region A). Release date fixed on August 29.

Sorry, the pic above is not a steelbook, it's a tin.

Not owning any of the MS films on Blu ray yet, I can't decide whether to buy em individually for the separate box art, or order the US MCU phase I boxset (UK resident).

I'd just wait for the complete blu-ray pack that way you only have to pay once.
