Just curious which version you will be picking up! Blu-ray or DVD? I'm going with the Blu-ray version. I've already seen the movie in Imax & regular theatres so I might as well check it out in High Definition!

DVD for now. But when I do get a Blu-ray player in the future, whether in five months or five years, you can bet your ass that I'll be getting TDK for it.

Both, getting the DVD version to watch until the time I can get a Blu Ray player.

Also pre-ordered the Batpod Blu Ray version for when I get that player.

I'll prolly won't buy it right away but eventually the Blu-Ray I think.. I'm still wanting to upgrade and I'm holding off on some movies until then .. Iron Man, TDK among others

I'll be helping make TDK the highest selling Blu-Ray disc ever.

Blu, its all I buy anymore. It looks great on my system. And I wanna see the Joker's face in the highest resolution on my 61 inch.

DVD for now. If I happen to get a Blu-Ray before then, Blu-Ray for sure.

DVD for sure. I might get a Blu-ray player at some point in 2009 (or a PS3, I really want to play the Ghostbusters game), but the current plan is picking this gem up on DVD.

As much as I enjoy the benefits of Blu, I upgraded to DVD six years ago. I see no reason to upgrade right now.

I'd rather wait a few more years for the price of Blu-ray players and HD sets to go down enough to warrant upgrading. Even then, I'll only buy new releases on Blu, but TDK is one that I'll probably double-dip in Blu.

Figs, where did you preorder your Batpod Blu-ray set? If you could send me a link, I'd appreciate it! I'd rather pay extra for a collector's edition if I'm already gonna pay $25.00 for the Blu-ray version. Much appreciated! :yay:

DVD. don't buy blu ray. i don't play that s**t.

Cryptic, I respect your decision but if you do get a chance to view a blu-ray movie on an HD-TV with the proper connections, I promise you that you'll never go back to regular DVDs ever again.
I said the same thing when blu-rays came out even though I had a PS3 but my friend borrowed me his Casino Royale blu-ray & I got a chance to compare it with the DVD version. The difference was night & day. The blu-ray version had vibrant colours, crisp & clean. The audio made me feel like I was in the movie next to Bond himself. I just felt like I was in the movie truly experiencing what Bond was. I never got that from the DVD. Hope this is helpful. I'm not forcing you to get it by all means but you should give it a chance to at least see what you are missing out on. :cwink:

Thank you everyone for taking your time voting & posting! I hope you will enjoy the movie at home as much as you did at the theatres! For those who are thinking of getting a Blu-ray player, look into getting the Playstation 3. Not only can you play video games but you can download games, movies & tv shows from it. There's much more to it then that but I want you to find it out for yourself. Also, because it can go online via cable or wireless, it can do BD Live for Blu-ray movies that offer that option which The Dark Knight offers. Sony also does plenty of patches/updates for the blu-ray software to futher enhance your experience with your blu-ray movies. Not many of the current stand alone blu-ray players do that unfortunately & those that do offer those options are usually in the $500 & above price range. The least inexpensive Playstation 3 is currently going for $399 which is the 80 gig PS3. Not too bad for what you get with $400 which means playing games, downloading/renting movies, games, tv shows & watching blu-ray movies plus much more! Hopefully, this has been helpful for those who have been interested in making a purchase or still on the borderline.
