Been playing COD4 all day, and I can't wait for Resistance 2, Haze, MGS4, Killzone 2, Uncharted 2 among other games.

It's also good to see PS3 undergoing a massive surge in sales as well.

A couple of reasons. Some were:

1. I did not want to deal with the RRoD fiasco.

2. I see a LOT of great games coming up in the years to come.

3. Blu Ray DVD player (I have an HDTV so it's nice)

4. I like it better as a multi-media hub than the 360.

It wasn't an easy decision, but I feel that the PS3 is now gaining a lot of steam and will soon be going places.

Great choice. You wont be disapointed. Its a great tiem to own a PS3 now. Im sure you'll be getting GTA4 and MGS4 like everyone else. Those will be big and will keep you busy for quite some time. After your done with those or have free time in the future, Id defiently reccommend going back and trying out Uncharted and Ratchet and Clank. Those were 2 of the better games from last fall. Warhawk is also good and has a big online following but Im not sure what that will be like in a few months with other good online enabled games coming out. You already did good by picking up COD4. Best FPS on any console. Ive been playing it all day today

I think the craziest thing about PS3 is it's current success without without releasing a single A-List exclusive blockbuster like MGS 4 of Gran Turismo. Now that Halo 3 is out, 360 has to rely on Gears of War 2 and cross platform titles (which tend to be slightly inferior to PS3 counterparts) to bring cash in, on top of the red ring problem, which still has yet to be solved. And the Wii has released all but a very few cash cows, so don't be too surprised if Nintendo's success takes a steady dip downward. Expect them to really start to push more hand held stuff.

I heard that the PS3 counterparts are inferior to the Xbox 360 versions most of the time. The Orange Box, Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, Call of Duty 3, and other games tended to be superior on the Xbox 360. Granted that this problem is being fixed.

Graphics are nothing, I'm saying, gameplay/control/framerate are all better on 360.

still stand by my statements but the difference is minimal either which way you're looking. The key is that the difference is no where what say, The Orange Box was between the two systems

Pretty much most reviews that compare them, go in favor of the PS3 version when it comes to the technical details. Here's one quote from IGN

For those wanting to know which version looks better, the edge goes to the PS3. The textures and framerate are comparable, but the PS3 has far less pop-in. The 360 has richer colors, but the PS3 has better anti-aliasing making it look a little cleaner. Because GTA IV can preload onto the PS3 hard drive, the in-game loads are faster.

Taking that aside, gameplay is absolutely the same on both so I dont see where its better on the 360. And controls are a matter of personal opinion. The controls are just fine on the PS3. It depends on what a person prefers to play with and its not something that will universally be in favor of any system

Going by that quote from IGN, those slight advantages are enough to make the PS3 version better for me. The edge that the 360 has is the confirmed episodic content coming in the future, but that wont be for a few months. As of now, its no better than the PS3 version of the game
