Omega Flight!!!!!

I don't understand that mentality at all. Bill doesn't fit in the Marvel Universe? How does he fit any less than the Silver Surfer, Galactus, Thor, Hercules, Ares, Ronan, Super-Skrull, Nova, Captain Marvel, Thanos, the Beyonder, Adam Warlock, etc.? He's a space character. He fits just fine in space. That's like saying the Surfer fit in well with the "street level" heroes, so let's depower him and give him a goatee. Man, Oeming...WTF...
I don't understand it either, but that's what people at Marvel said. That's probably a big part of why Thor's comic was canceled. It was selling comparably to Iron Man's comic for a year before Disassembled came around, yet Iron Man's comic continued after the event while Thor's ended.

I think it has to do more with the fact that Bill is pretty much Thor...as a horse. Yes, I realize theyre different characters, but just like the super pets they come and go all the time. So it would be like if there was a character named Platinum BMXer and he was pretty much Silver Surfer in dog form...

Brilliant!

Bill established himself as much more than that a very long time ago; but his previous exploits notwithstanding, placing Bill into a human alternate form just makes him even more like Thor, not less.

Well came out today and it was much better than OF #1, quite good and we see ALL the members of the team including Bill [Well human Bill who is having visions]

You can do better than that, give us a damn review.

He and the Wrecking Crew are being pulled to a muesum in Toronto and he's having all kinds of visions of Snowbird, a weird temple and the Great Beasts. Somehow their all connected.
Oh shizzle, Bill's the horse Great Beast! :wow:

Gotta say 52 #52 is so far the read of the week for me so far. I havn't finished all my books yet but really enjoyed this the most.

Art: I'm really enjoying Kolins new grey tone shading as it adds more texture than his normal art style. There are some beautiful pages such as the Talisman spirit quest and the Wrecking Crew throwing Sasquatch in the hole, but there is some awful panels where the art is something to be desired for. However, props for being an on-time artist and still able to draw majority quality panels. Marvel lateness on comics has made me drop many titles out of disgust over it.

Story: Still a tad slow, but it progressed faster than OF #1 did. This would have been fine if it was an on-going, but since this series is a mini it has got to pick up. However, we saw the entire team in this book not fully formed as a team but their getting there. In the end 4 of the 6 members are joined together

Spoilers: Starts out with Agent Brown telling Talisman Sasquatch has gone missing from his battle with the Crew. So she tags along with him to the C.S.I.S HQ to meet the rest of the OF team. However, before then she goes on a spirit quest which we saw in the previews so no need to expand on that. I guess most of the issue was covered in the 7 preview links they released for this issue, which removed some of the excitment for me. I guess what's interesting to note is Bill is being drawn to a Toronto muesum and sketched out a drawing of his visions, where he sees an Owl [Snowbird], a giant temple which is somehow connected to the Wrecking Crew and an image of Sasquatch taller than a city destroying it and the words "great beasts" next to it. Sasquatch is actually getting mutilated by Thunderball who took him to a cabin and dug a massive hole and tossed him in so they could torture him. Still even getting tortured Sasquatch won't make a noise annoying Thunderball. and they carry the wounded Sasquatch to Toronto...ya da da, lots of stuff happened. Nice to see Talisman rip a new one on Iron Man and Ms.Marvel.

Good issue, not the best of the week but still good.

I can see now how Talisman will become the team leader. U.S. Agent is such a blowhard. But since this is a mini-series, what happens to the other criminals who've snuck into Canada?

I figured Walter would still wind up as the leader whenever the team's roster is finalized. As for the other criminals, presumably Omega Flight the team continues to operate past the end of this mini, so they'd be running around Canada, kicking American criminals' asses indefinitely.

Walter's the heart of the team, that's for sure. When I think Alpha Flight, I think of him. The Guardian/Vindicator thing has lost it's appeal to me, as it apparently doesn't matter who's actually in the suit, just that the suit is around.

Yeah, it's a shame. I kind of wish they'd pull the Exiles' Heather Hudson off her team to replace Pointer in OF.

I wouldn't mind that and giver her the suit since she is powerless, but rumor is in Exiles they may make her go Sasquatch again. No idea why, or what's the point as heather is fine as the Coordinator.

Has it ever been *officially* explained what happened to Alpha Flight? I've heard that the Flight that died in New Avengers is not the "real" Flight, and that the real members are somewhere in time and/or space.

Not yet in and interview Andy Schmdit said the copies are still around as there is no evidence their gone so they may pop up again. However, might be for the best to ignore that since it's a tad confusing.

Most of the characters seem to believe that they are dead, but I think one the Canadian agents said that Yukon Jack survived too but was in terrible shape.

I was wondering how Beta Ray was going to be introduced (that was him on the bus wasnt it?). I keep forgetting that the Wrecking Crew are endowed with Asgard magic. They just dont seem like the type.

Well technically there were two teams of Alpha Flight prior to New Avengers #16

One in Space consisting of: Earthmover, Shaman, Vindicator II, Guardian I, Puck I, Snowbird

Temporal Copies: Snowbird, Vindicator II, Guardian I, Shaman, Aurora and Northstar, Puck I

Notice the only original member who didn't get a temporal copy [Sasquatch] was the only one who survived
