Cynical? We sure as hell are, and Bendis is one of the frigging reasons for it.

Every time a crappy idea pops up at Marvel on one of their flagship books, everyone says "Well wait a minute now...it could be REALLY surprising and cool!" And it is never either. It's always the obvious, and rarely cool.

At least the X books are experiencing a nice revival in terms of quality.

Nah I dont really like Cloak, I dont wanna see Fantastic four members being Avengers so Torch and Sue dont work for me and Wiccan and Falcon both annoy me.

I would really like:
Cap, Spidey, Cage, Iron Fist, Strange, Herc and some random eye candy... possibly Spiderwoman and Phylla. That to me would be an awesome team.

He's the ultimate hero, so this is not a slap at him, but Spidey should never have been on the Avengers. It took away the everyman, underdog charm of the character to have him on a team that could get out of any situation. I'm not the only one that feels this way either, evidenced by the way Marvel is now trying to "shake him up" all over again.

I disagree. I think he's perfect as an avenger. He's been the underdog forever and it's unrealistic to have the character stay the same in the same situation forever. He grew up, he got better, he's finally getting the respect he deserves and a place among the big dogs because of it. He's brilliant and he's a hell of a lot more formidable than most give him credit for. He's a seasoned veteran and a great addition to any team.

I love Spiderman as an Avenger and I love him solo. I hope he stays on the team for quite some time.

Bendis killed Hawkeye in a stupid, ill-conceived way in a stupid, ill-conceived story, Bendis brought Hawkeye back as practicaly an afterthought to another stupid, ill-conceived story that built on his previous ill-conceived one, and now Bendis is going to further mangle Hawkeye in his best-selling title the way he's mangled everyone else in said comic, and that'll just embed Bendis' crappy image of Hawkeye in people's minds rather than the earlier version which was, you know, actually good. Clearer for you?

yes, people will only remember Bendis Hawkeye, the one that sold books, as opposed to this mythically awesome Hawkeye everyone talks about whos ongoing series lasted about 2 minutes before being cancled for low sales. If you people really liked Hawkeye to begin with, before it became cool to like him as it was cool to hate Bendis, maybe Marvel never would have considered him a throwaway character to begin with and Bendis wouldnt have been either allowed or told to kill him off.
