I hate surprises. I ALWAYS open and re-wrap my Christmas presents. I WISH someone had shown me spoilers of Sins Past... must take meds for my PTSD now...

That's really sad, dude.

Crap, I'm all late. And yes, we are all tools.

yea i cant wait to see how the story goes and once it is over jms is finally gone from amazing.

Well, I picked up the sketch book and it has really cool pictures in it. I have seen some in color, but some sketches are new.

LOL

I've always wondered. If OMD is doing away the unmasking, why unmasked him last year? :(

Pretty much :csad:

You have to remember, before Civil War, (and even after for some people,) comics books just don't really sell enough to be a 'current,' medium.

While the respect has gotten high since the explosion of comic book films, comparing the sale of books to ANY other medium makes comics look small as a business.

While it has gotten much better in the last couple of years, global western comic sales are still quite small in the larger scale of things.

So yea, these kinds of things are used to boost sales, and they did.

While some may be pissed at that, don't forget, Stan did THE EXACT same thing when creating the MU. He did ALL sorts of shocking things with super-heroes that WEREN'T supposed to happen.

So before people bash it, they have to remember this is EXACTLY how our fave U was created, and why people consider Stan to be instrumentally key in modern super-hero books. Taking these chances where his idea, at his wifes' instigation

Of course, sales boost is the PRIMARY reason anything happens in comics.

And even though we all knew at one point or another, the unmasking would be reverted back in some manner that nobody remembers who Spider-Man is, it was fun to see the reactions of many old supporting cast members finally knowing who Peter was... JJJ's confrontation, Robbie's, Betty's, etc...

And while many people will go on about how is was "against his character" to unmask in the first place, as I stated MANY times about one year ago when it occured, it happened perfectly within his character "AT THAT TIME"... Aunt May's blessings (something Peter never had yet craved for 40 years (our time)), protection of Avengers Tower, trying to do the right thing under the right amount of pressure of a peer, etc...

Honestly, while I've been dissappointed with the way JMS fumbles the ball on every last issue of his arcs, he's really handled the characters wonderfully, and that's one thing I'll miss about his writing.

The stories were hit or miss, but the characterization was pretty spot-on.

Just my two cents (sorry Cullen)...

:yay:

Agreed, the unmasking was horrible and took away many great thing's about Spidey, and now he isn't really as much of a relatable character any more.
Yeah, I miss the Spidey who had alot of problems. Keeping his identity a secret, having to get to places on time, always running off to change into Spider-Man, leving his freinds wondering where he when't.

Agreed, that's why I like Peter and Spidey, and now it isn't the same, I hope they take back the unmasking soon, heck, One More Day's a good enough place to do it.

Defenitley, that would make on step back to the Spidey we all knew and loved.
