The scene between Peter and Iron Man was about as perfect as your going to get. Tony definitely was right in the end. Peter did betray him and he did break the law which makes it difficult for him to help. It's blatantly obvious that Pete would definitely take Iron Man in a one on one fight now, haha. Damn he tore Tony apart!

No doubt. Peter also trashed one of Stark's flunkies, War Machine, in a recent issue of Avengers Initiative.

It was a thing of beauty. :word:

Yeah, I read that in the Initiative a few months back. Only fitting that Dan Slott wrote that as he will be strutting his way onto Amazing Spider-Man. :woot:

It's kind of weird that I'm hoping One More Day ends REALLY fast so that I can get to the Slott/McNiven penned issues. I CAN'T WAIT!!! :woot:

I too am WAY excited about ASM#546 onwards, though I'm still not entirely sure exactly how they are going to rota the writers/artists per issue/arcs.

After reading about this situation on wikipedia, I understand that of the 3 teams of writers/artists they have for the new schedule- they will alternate doing 6 issue arcs a piece.

Does this mean each pairing will do 6 issues in a row each before the next team comes on?
That can't be right because that would mean each team would have to turn out 3 issues out per month, for two months and then get a four month break.

Does anyone know how it actually works?

Dan Slott said they gonna start with 3 issues per team at first, Then a 2 shot, then a 1 shot, and then the big arcs are gonna gome. It however seems like McNiven only gonna be there for the first arc.

Ah ok thanks, that makes sense to me now.

I can see how each team will have had the chance to create 3 issue arcs for the launch of the new schedule. After that I guess it will filter down to each issue featuring a different team as each pairing settles into their one issue a month routine.

That issue was great. Remember that line...

"Not gonna happen. Know why? Because I'm Spider-Man."

Excellent :D

Swing Shift takes place in continuity and Aunt May is alive and well in that story, so whoever is claiming that she dies in OMD is clearly wrong.

:yay:

Man, Swing Shift was a thing of beauty. -Except Spidey's head. In the mask, Jimenez draws Peter's head too oval like for my taste.

But the story was cool. Very retro-feeling. I even like the Jackpot idea. Looking forward to seeing their relationship blossom all over again. This time, putting MJ on an even keel with Peter. In my opinion, it makes her interesting again.

More importantly though, i'm looking forward to finally having a stable status-quo in Spidey continuity. Where every other arc isn't a "life-changing" event.

Also, don't know if you know this... But one of the writers also hinted that mechanical web-shooters may be working their way back into the Spider-verse!! :word:

I read the first issue of One More Day and was extremely EXTREMELY impressed. I didn't really have too many high hopes for this thing because of all the Hype surrounding it but so far so good.

I have to say that I missed Ron Garney on this issue. He was really coming into his own on Amazing as the run went on and he did a bang up job during the Civil War tie-in's and Back In Black.

Anyway...back at the ranch. Quesada's artwork was definitely on the money. I'm going the minority route and gonna give some amazing props to Quesada for holding down the fort as Editor In Chief and doing fantastic art duties on One More Day. Don't let the rest of these nerds tear you down for being talented and in a position they never could fathom being in.

In conclusion I've been impressed and it's awesome seeing JMS tying a lot of things up from the six years in his run. I'm looking forward to Friendly Neighborhood # 24 and to see what Doctor Strange can do for Peter Parker and his dying Aunt. Should be getting interesting by next issue.

But even if the rest of the series sucks I have a nice cushion to fall back on knowing full well that the next creative team on Amazing Spider-Man will be Dan Slott and Steve McNiven...so, yeah...there's always something to look forward to, my fellow Spider-Man fans.

Minus the Tony/Peter scene... this issue was every other issue of Back in Black. What was so great about it? Every single scene besides Tony and Peter was done over and over throughout BIB... and then Peter's back in Red & BBlue with no explanation whatsover after the incredible amount of hype surrounding the Black suit...

Doesn't take much to impress you, huh?

Pretty much my thoughts.

We get Peter wanting to find a way to save Aunt May....wow. He's been trying to do that through 6 issues of Sensational Spider-Man and 6 issues of Amazing Spider-Man. Nothing new. Now we get Peter....wanting to save Aunt May.

DOES ANYONE NEED MORE PROOF THAT BACK IN BLACK WAS A POINTLESS MOVIE TIE-IN?!

I could have read "War at Home" and skipped straight into One More Day, and it would have read the exact same....we would have jus missed a confrontation with the Kimgpin which, to be brutally honest, didn't help or change anything. Peter now has EVERYONE after him to take down the guy that beat the Kingpin. Good job.

So far, I'm unimpressed. I would have preferred a more balls to the wall fight with Iron man starting it off, and then given the plot a little more meat by showing us a little bit of where this is all headed. Instead, we'll probably get another "The Other" or "Sins Past" anticlimax with a resolution that will just leave a sour taste in our mouths.:csad:

WHAT?!!!

Dude...Peter looks like Joey Q and/or a Muppet!!

Pete's jaw (the way it was drawn) DID kinda resemble Grover or some Muppet thru-out that issue.

No it wasn't. Yes, Aunt May's life hung in the balance during Back In Black but that story arc really had a lot more to do with Peter Parker going after The Kingpin and letting him and the criminals know that you don't mess with Peter Parker and his family.

One More Day, yes, has Aunt May's life hanging in the balance but this story seems to, so far, be about Peter Parker finding any means necessary to bring his Aunt out of the coma and to, oh...I don't know...maybe have "One More Day" with her, heh. :oldrazz:

So, no, I guess it really doesn't take too much to impress me. I'm having a great time with my Spider-Man comics and getting plenty of enjoyment. Don't be all jealous. :oldrazz:

What proof? I'm pretty positive everybody, at this juncture, knows that Back in Black was a shameless promotional tie-in with the movie. The storyline didn't REALLY have a need for him to put the black suit on, they just sort of plopped it into the storyline as a little Easter Egg to the movie.

No one is denying it. Marvel did it with the previous two, why would it stop them from doing it with the third? :oldrazz:

You're always unimpressed with Spider-Man comics, haha. Maybe once or twice you're impressed. That sucks that you've got such a pessimistic view of the Spidey books. I can't help that. You can't help that. And Marvel really can't help that because they are just doing their thing.

If you guys want a really really weak reason (it may not even work) on why hes back in the red and blue and no more black, here's one.

Obviously the only reason that we got from the books is that its to show how pissed he is. But during the whole arc, MJ never saw him wear the black suit. And now since MJ is around as he is in the suit, he changed back to red and blue to respect her wishes. I don't think MJ ever knew about the black suit.

Now this reason(excuse) is only for ASM. I can't vouch for FNSM as I dont read it, and I can't rememebr if she sees the black suit in SSM.

So if you're looking for the smallest reasoning, there's one, but its still obvious that its a movie tie-in.

Im always completely puzzled when i see fans complaining about movie tie ins...

Marvel didnt put anything out for the first Blade movie, and fans raked them over the coals for it....

Now, they make sure there's a tie in with each movie, AND FANS RAKE THEM OVER THE COALS FOR IT. :whatever:

It's a wonder the comics industry is still around, period.

I know, just for my own taste, I would rather read something that makes me think, "wow, they've put real thought into this" than "oh... this is what they threw together to milk some of their movie $ into their print medium $."

It's an issue of quality VS "lookie here an' gimme yo' $"

I mean at 3-4 bucks each... I'd like to think I'm getting more than a marketing ploy. That's part of my issue with "decompression" also...

I don't think it's the tie in as much as it is how it was handled.....it pissed on continuity....Pete got rid of the costume because of MJ....not because of the message he thought it gave out ...then it was simply dropped with no explanation ...movie tie ins are fine....unless they "look like" movie tie ins...then they're just cumbersome

me I could care less.....I'm biding my time for Slott!!......

Agreed, peter looks AWFUL. Why do they pay this guy.....

The spider-man looked good, but Peter, M.J., and the decrepit skeleton of aunt may look downright horrible.
