Sorry, I thought this was a Spidey thread, not a which-poster-sucks-the-most thread.
:woot: LOL :o

Seriously. Why is everyone getting so catty?

If you like or dislike something, then fine. There's no right or wrong when it's a matter of opinion....:yay:

You're missing something though.

Sometimes, getting "catty" is damn fun. Do you think I actually have any feelings whatsoever to USMC? Of course not. It's just fun to trade barbs with someone every once in a while. If having a bit of fun is ******ed, than yes, I am thoroughly ******ed and loving every minute of it.

Cool.

If it's fun for you, then by all means have a blast insulting the crap out of eachother through private message, but the rest of us Spidey fans don't click on these threads to see posters trading juvenile insults. We click on these threads to talk about Spider-Man.

You're taking things WAY too seriously. It was what? 3 posts. Meanwhile, a perfectly healthy on-topic discussion was happening. Lighten up, as you pointed out with your old-as-dirt caption pic, the internet is not a serious place. In the grand scheme of things, you're "serious" discussion on Spider-Man is worth no more than my two whole (yes, two WHOLE posts...aren't I a spammer?) posts of joking around.

Well... before I fall victim to the very reason I put that "old-as-dirt" pic up, let's get this back on topic:

Those weird nefarious night-stalkers or whatever... what the hell are they? What kind of part will they play in the story? Are they going to feast on comatose May's brains?

Maybe you're wasting your life enjoying the books. Stop expressing your opinion of wether or not we waste our lives disliking the books as if it were fact.

sheesh, pot. kettle. black. :whatever:

I'm certainly not wasting my life. That's why it's called ENJOYMENT.

But it seems you are a little offended, that's usually means that I'm right. :cwink:

Gosh i just want this One More Day to be over so that we can have a Brand New Day. No more Gwen-****e, no more stingers and weird powers, no more public identity known. I just want down-to-earth stories that teach Peter lessons in life, mixed with interesting villainy plot and villain-hero action, cool supporting characters to make things interesting for the hero and his alter ego, and the essential spidey elements: love problems, money problems, work problems, villain problems, media problems, inner problems. Remember guys, we'll get all these again after OMD!

You have those stories though. Pick up Sensational Spider-Man and Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. FNSM has had Spider-Man's supporting cast from back in the day. Betty Brant, Flash Thompson, Deb Whitman, JJJ, Robbie Robertson, etc. Sensational Spider-Man has had the solid classic Spidey story telling with the new age twist with the stylings of Sacasa.

Preach it! :o

I just noticed at the place where they have Spidey comics around here, they don't have the OMD ones. They have every other Spidey comic. I was like wtf?

Solid classic Spidey story telling with the new age twist with the stylings of Sacasa, AND OLD SUPPORTIN CHARACTERS MIGHT HAVE BEEN THERE, butl Sensational and Friendly Neighborhood was under the Sins Past, the Other, and Secret identity revealed crap so It still wasn't the spidey stories i'd like to read

Well, I can't help that you're going to hold a grudge over storyline decisions. You probably won't be reading Spidey comics ever again then, heh. Because from the sounds of recent events things are going to drastically change again.

Sounds like you're going to be holding a grudge for a very long time. Ashame.

I think it's great that they're supposedly gonna "fix" some things in OMD...however, i just hope they don't cut off more than they should.

JQ holding the scissors and doing the "fixing" is what makes me nervous. He's not a good vet, and has very little experience w/ spiders specifically.

I finally read OMD in the store on Friday... while I was picking up USM and Marvel Adventures SM #29 & 31 (which BTW were quite enjoyable. PD does a good job writing).

First, the art... It may have been the WORSE version of Peter I've ever seen. It distracted from rather than drawing me into the story. Not all of it was awful, but over all... didn't like the art. (Fine. Good art might have tempted me to buy... but that was not the case.)

The conflict with Tony and the involvement of Jarvis was good. Real.

But the rest... Peter acting like a total nutjob with his wild-eyed "I'm not going to let her die! I'll do anything! Sacrifice ANYTHING!" I mean, how CONTRIVED can you get!? The way they are manipulating the plot to acheive their nefarious goals... how OBVIOUS. And absurd.

I know Peter has run headlong into impulsive, emotional decisions before... but if they are trying to make Peter's desparation BELIEVABLE to the point that it makes SENSE that he would sacrifice his marriage? They are failing miserably.

I'm starting to think that if I don't want to have the image of Peter as a complete IDIOT in my head I really need to stay away for awhile. :(

Who cares about the negatives of this issue. Did you see the owning Ironman recieved and what Peter could have done to his helmet from the begining? Though I'll admit, Peters going effing nuts. The first time his aunt died he wasn't nearly this frantic.

Well, No one shot her that time. It also wasn't his fault that time.

True, but I still hate it when Peter gets evil for too long. Didn't the clone saga teach marvel that evil Peter= does not work? I mean B&B was good, but Peter should have came to his senses after wtfpwning the KingPin.

Evil? He's pissed, not evil. I like that Peter gets pissed occasionally. It's a refreshing break from wisecracking Spidey. Yes the "I AM THE SPIDER!" stuff went too far (and too long), but when Spidey cuts loose for small periods of time it makes for a cool story.

He sounds pretty borderline evil/psychotic in One More Day. But the key word you said their is "small". Small periods as inB&B should have been the end of his rampage. Not to mention the other Spider-titles are not accurately displaying his current state of mind, so B&B seemed almost pointless.
