ONE QUESTION LL! WILL THE HULK TALk?

I think he should say things a couple of times but it should be forced. Like he's trying very hard to communicate but he's a monster so it's coming out very weird. He should not be always "Hulk mad, Hulk wants to draw, Hulk wants to go dancing". It should come out in waves. In the comics they had to make him say things when he fought because back then in comics it was almost a law that you could not have characters in panels not saying anything. But this is 2006 and it's in a movie so he doesn't have to speak or so words when he fight just growl. Like when he fights the Abomination.

he did say it...remember a couple months ago when I pm'd you?:yay:

^ I could swear he did but I'm not searching for where if it was here, myspace, or wherever but I could swear he touched on that. Oh well he'll be here in a matter of weeks so he can answer all the questions we ask as long as they dont' spoil anything too much I'm sure.

No? I'll have to check my PM's if it's still there. I usually delete them after a few months.

Um, didnt Hulk talk twice in the first film???

I thought he said something like "TAKE IT ALL!" In the end...and I remember groaning and wishing I could erase it from my mind.

"Take it all" was in the final battle with his dad...which was mor elike my movie-going nightmare than a dream...

The "puny human" thing I think was in a dream.

Puny Human was not so much a dream, as the sub concious realm of Banner and the HULK. It was a place in both thierminds, a two way mirror in which subconciously the transformantion from one to the other takes place.

Because Hulk was losing conciuosness due to lack of Oxygen, he went there, Banner may have had the opportunity top take over, but Hulk Realizing they would die if such a thing happened snatched control back from Banner.

It is an effect the comics drew upon quite often durring the Merger between the Gray Green and Banner Personas.

There was a great Golden door that sort of floated in space, Both Baner and the Grey Hulk had locked away the green Hulk there, they both tried to keep his rage and anger locked away, but eventualy he got out.

One has to realize the Hulk in many ways is simply a split persoanlity, something the movie drew upon rather well, IMO, The Hulk was locked away in Banner for years the Gamma accident just caused enough tramma to free him, and in doing so, allowed that persoanlity to manifest a mutation/nanomeade reaction.

Banners memories of his child hood are fractured partialy becasue of what his father did to him Killing the mother in fornt of him caused the initial Schitzoid break, sent Banner into lock up and created the Hulk to deal with it.

Damn man, thats great stuff. it is nice to see someone explain it in a direct, simple, to-the-point statement. Bravo!

if the " Incredible HULK" talks in the next film, i think
it would be limited dialogue and would add more
interest/ focus to the Hulk character.
to show the angry-child mentality the Hulk has.

And if he does talk, i don't think it will be a constant. Only in spots.
i like that as an upgrade to the Bill Bixby-Hulk TV series and the last
Hulk character.

I totally disagree. I think the movie did a piss poor job of showing that the HULK is a completely different being that thinks and has emotion. He seemed more like a brain damaged Banner. Like he just couldn't think right as the HULK. He said he liked being in that form. Said he remembered it and felt power and freedom and such. He sort of liked it. That's not the HULK. Banner hates the HULK and the HULK hates Banner. I think they'll get it right in the next one.

He spoke once in the first movie when he said "Puny Human." If he does speak in the second one, hopefully it's another single short sentence.
actually he Spoke Twice in the Movie, in the dream sequence where he said "Puny human", and at the End battle with his dad, when Hulk actually yelled " TAKE IT ALL"!!!!

I don't know if any of you read the paperback adaptation of the movie written by Peter David. It came out a month or so before the movie hit theatres. There was an interesting exchange between young Bruce and his dad that I wish they would have done in the movie. (or wish they would do in the new picture).

If I remember correctly, David is talking with young Bruce about suppressing his anger. David of course is unsure what exactly is going on with Bruce and doesn't want it to "accidentally" expose itself in the wrong situation. David tells Bruce, "You must never become Angry!!! When you feel the anger building you must SMASH IT.....Just SMASH THE ANGER OUT!!!!" Bruce naturally doesn't forget this as it helps to aid in his suppression. But in his subconscious Hulk state, all he remembers is, SMASH IT etc...

I feel this would have been a huge addition to the movie and could even be a nice reason to say "Hulk Smash" in the sequel...just my 2 cents.

Just because they hate one another doesn't mean they can't understand the value in each other. They are two sides of the same coin not two separate entities. Forget that there are eight million incarnations of the Hulk and they've (Banner and Hulk) been split and recombined too many times to count. At the heart of the story is a an internal struggle. Yes, they hate one another, but they also need one another.

With regard to the film adaptation, Banner is able to enjoy a feeling of freedom and raw emotion in Hulk form...something he has repressed all of his life; it doesn't mean he likes being the Hulk only that he finds value in that particluar aspect and wishes he could find it on his own. it obviously frightens him to lose control, but sometimes unleashing the Hulk is the only way.

Why? He speaks in the comics. He has a personality in the comics. That's like making a Spider-Man movie and hoping he says one line the entire movie. There's no reason for the character to only speak one line the entire movie unless your goal is to kill any amount of personality the character has. Wolverine talks, Batman talks, and guess what? So does the HULK. He needs to talk.

You are right.
HULK must talk dammit, just do it right and it will be cool.

Read "HULK:THE END"

The Hulk will talk. He talked in the last one...and he'll talk in this one. Didn't he also talk at the end in the lake when he was screaming "take it! take it all!"

Yeah he talked. But can you imagine seeing a Spider-Man movie where he talks twice throughout the entire movie?

Dacman is right. They hate each other. And Banner always referred to Hulk as being a "curse".

Read "HULK:THE END"

I have, thank you very much.

And while it is excellent, one author's telling doesn't erase all the history that came before or the original spirit in which the character was created. It also doesn't contradict anything I said in my original post.

All I'm saying is you can dislike, even hate, something and still find it useful. A necessary 'evil' if you will. What's so hard to understand about that?
