For anyone uncertain of the context of my latest Harvey Dent post, here's my post from the beginning of the season that set it up:

Salvatore "Boss" Maroni slobbered the spaghetti out of his mouth, long, stringy driblets splattering off the side of the bowl. He enjoyed eating in his own restaurant. Surveying his little kingdom. He didn't understand these restaurant owners who spent all their time stuffed up back in their kitchens. No, sometimes you have to just sit back and enjoy life. You could die any minute.

From where he was sitting, he spotted Harvey Dent the second he walked through the front door. The guy looked a mess, not like they showed him on the TV. Seemed like even walking was a struggle for him. But it was Dent alright. The dirty blonde hair flopping on his head like a limp dick, that epic chin. The kind of smug face Maroni used to love taking the butt of a pistol to when he passed it on the street. He felt sorely tempted to do the same to Dent right now. Since sending someone to gun him down on the steps of City Hall didn't stick.

Maroni locked eyes with Dent as he approached, and both stared at each other, unblinking. It was the first time they'd seen each other in person, but right from that very moment they knew one another, mutual hatred rising like a bad smell. Maroni smiled at him. When Dent reached the table, he was stopped by two of Maroni's henchmen.

"Mr. Dent, never thought I'd see you down this side of town!"

"Salvatore Maroni."

Neither man extended a hand. Maroni remained seated, calmly surveying Dent as his guards searched him.

"Sorry for the inconvenience, Mr. Dent. These days it seems like there ain't nobody who won't stoop so low as to bring a gun into a restaurant. Not even a District Attorney."

The guards found no gun.

"What do you think I am, Mr. Maroni?"

"Take a seat, Mr. Dent."

Maroni eyed Dent intently as he sat down, smirking as Dent winced slightly. He did it in a way that was subtle, but would certainly be visible to Dent.

"You want some food? Something to drink?"

"No thank you."

"C'mon, I ain't gonna poison you. Ha! Might get the chef to spit in your soup, maybe....no, I'm just kidding! Try our food, it's the best in Gotham."

"I'm sure it is. But I can't stay long."

And then there was a few moments of silence. Dent and Maroni sat there on opposing sides of the table, looking at each other, sizing each other up. There was a feeling in the air, as if their fates had already become entwined.

"I was greatly saddened to hear about what happened to you and your beautiful wife, Mr. Dent. How is she?"

"She's fine."

"Really? Because I heard she was in a coma."

Dent visibly flinched. Maroni took great pleasure in hurting Dent, but this time kept his smile concealed.

"She's alive. I'm thankful for that."

"As am I."

Dent knew Maroni was behind it. Maroni knew he knew. But neither was putting their cards on the table just yet.

"I've been wanting to meet you for quite some time, Mr. Maroni."

"I've been wanting to meet you too, as it happens. This...campaign of yours. I want to tell you that I'm behind it. I think you're...misguided in pointing the finger of blame in my direction - I'm just an honest businessman - but I do admire what you're trying to achieve. Cleaning up Gotham. The crime level in this city, sure as hell needs cleaning. You got gunfights on the streets, costumed freaks..."

"One worked for you, right?"

"What?"

"A costumed freak. Jonathan Crane. Scarecrow. He was your guy, right?"

"Yeah. The kid needed a break. Just outta the nuthouse, no one else would hire him. I gave him a job here in the restaurant. I knew nothin' about his freaky obsession with you and your wife. I can only apologise for the ah...distress that musta caused you both. But yeah, you got costumed freaks, and the biggest freak of all is the one dressed as a bat, takin' the law into his own hands. You're right, Harvey....can I call you Harvey?"

"Sure."

"You're right, Harvey, we need to lift up Gotham out of the muck and the filth its fallen into, and if there's any way I can help, be sure just to give me a call and..."

"There's a way you can help."

"What?"

"There's a way you can help me."

"Oh yeah?" Maroni asked, his mouth full of spaghetti, "And what's that?"

"Leave."

"Leave? Where?"

"Leave Gotham City, and never come back."

Maroni let out a little laugh.

"What is this? Why would I wanna leave?"

"It's not a question of want. You're leaving. You see, Sal - can I call you Sal?"

Maroni said nothing.

"You see, Sal, the best thing you could do is leave now, on your own accord, and take the stink of your rotten family with you."

"Oh really? You think so?"

"Or don't. Stay put. To be honest, I'd prefer you do. Because then it means that I get to remove you from Gotham myself. I get to take you out of this cosy little arangement you've got for yourself here, and put you in a jail cell, where you belong, for a long, long time. I thought I'd do you the courtesy of coming down here, in person, and laying out your options for you..."

"Very good of you."

Harvey Dent leaned forward and stared hard at Maroni, the disgust abundantly clear in his eyes.

"And I came here, because I wanted to tell you this, face to face. When the day comes when the police drag you out, push you against the side of a squad car, and cuff your hands behind your back, I'm going to be there. I'm going to be right there, whispering in your ear, saying...I got you. I promise you that, right now."

For several seconds, Maroni didn't respond. He looked back at Dent with just as much hate in his eyes as Dent had for him, but his smile never faltered. When he finally spoke up, it was with a dismissive chuckle.

"It must eat you up inside, Dent."

"What?"

"The fact that you're not me. You see what I've got in this city, the power I have. I want something done, I just get someone to whisper my name, and it gets done. There are people in this city that were loyal to my father, to my grandfather, who honor me out of respect for them. The name Maroni is part of the history of Gotham, part of its lifeblood. That's power you can't buy, or be elected into. You want that power. You want that respect. But as much as you want to be me, you never will be, no matter what you do."

Harvey Dent smiled and shrugged.

"Want to be you? Why would I want to be Carmine Falcone's ******?"

Now it was Maroni's turn to flinch. The smile instantly vanished, as he stood up, and pointed furiously at Dent.

"You watch your f**kin' mouth!"

Dent remained seated, looking up at Maroni. Smiling at him. Leisurely, he stood up, and stared at Maroni, eye to eye.

"It was nice meeting you, Mr. Maroni. One more thing, before I go..."

Harvey Dent walked round the table, put his hand on Maroni's shoulder, and whispered into his ear.

"If my wife doesn't wake up...if Gilda dies....I'll kill you. Do you understand me? I'll put a f**king bullet through your Guinea skull..."

Maroni pulled back, swiping Dent's hand off his shoulder.

"What the hell you say to me!?"

"You heard. Goodbye, Mr. Maroni. I'll be seeing you."

With a nod and a parting smile, Harvey Dent turned and walked out of the restaurant. For a few moments, Maroni could do nothing but stand there, dumbfounded.

"Sunnova..."

Maroni grabbed the plate of spaghetti, and tossed it against the wall. Some gasps came from the customers in the restaurant as it shattered. Maroni glared at them, challenging them to protest. Then he stormed into his kitchen.

"One Universe" RPG SEASON III SIGN-UP FORM

Screen Name: Carnage27

Character you would like to play: Erik Magnus Lehnsherr aka Magneto

Powers: Magneto is a mutant that has the power to control and manipulate magnetic fields, which he uses to many different ends, such as flight, augmenting his own strength, force fields, etc. Magneto also has a genius level intellect.

Brief biography of the character's history: As a boy Erik and his family were held in the Nazi death camp of Auschwitz. It was there where he saw the human prejudices in their whole, horrifying truth. He saw how they treated those the dominant people saw as different. After the liberation of the camp at the end of WWII, Magneto ended up meeting Charles Xavier, and they began to work together
to better mutant kind. But Charles's and Magneto's views differed greatly. Xavier believed mutants and humans should live together peacefully, where Erik believed mutants to be the dominant race.

Magneto has recently returned to Earth after being marooned on an asteroid by Red Skull and his daughter, the Scarlet Witch, and is poised to begin his war against humanity.

List a few reasons why you have chosen that character:

1) He's a terrific character. Even though he is a villain, he truly believes in what he is doing is right.

2)We need some more villains in this game.

3)Maybe we can finally get an X-Men team together to fight him? t:

What can you bring to this game?: Cookies and beer

Color and font you plan on using for your character's speech: Courier New

How many times do you intend on posting a DAY IN the RPG: As much as needed

A hooded man slowly walks down the street as the bustling mass of humanity rushes around him like ants on a hill. They all thought their lives were more important than those of the people next t them, but they are all insignificant.

Fools...they have no idea what is coming.

Humans have had their chance with the planet. The time of homo sapien was ending, and the time of homo superior was now.

He had waited too long. The humans became more and more complacent with their "super" heroes protecting them, but not even they would be able to stop the war.

"Even Superman will cower in fear at our power," he whispers to himself

The man reaches his destination and looks up at the Times Square skyline. With a flick of his wrist, a subway train shoots through the streets, sending cars and pedestrians flying like rag dolls.

The train hovers thirty feet in the air, before accelerating like a bullet into One Times Square. Sirens begin to blare, and the man slowly walks away, but he accomplished what he sent out to do.

Deliver a message, and Magneto's message was clear.

"War."

Dude. It is NOT my fault that I haven't posted as Elektra, and you know it. I"ve been seriously waiting on Daredevil to show up, or Batman to be free. Now I might be holding back that arc myself by not posting as Starfire, but she's bunnyable in any case, so again, you can't hold me responsible for that. -_-;;

At least I still have a few hours in which to post as Elektra so as not to lose her, even if it's a one liner, which it more than likely will be. H8.

I know. Which is why I've been keeping her off the removal list for the last couple of weeks.

I know I'm probably being a hard ass about this, but now there's ten people who haven't posted as their character in a month, even just something small to hold onto them. I've become frustrated with the total lack of posting and decided to put everyone on the list.

But please do post. That goes for everyone. The last thing we need is to lose more good players.

List a few reasons why you have chosen that character: i am swamped at work working 11 hour days, and hadnt been able to rpg for a long itme, but if Supes is available as it looks like he is, I want a chance to play him.

What can you bring to this game?: pie.

Color and font you plan on using for your character's speech: bold blue arial black

How many times do you intend on posting a DAY IN the RPG:
In honesty, I will try to make one significant post a week.

Please provide a sample post with original content in the style that you plan to write your character in (must be at least 5 paragraphs long and contain at least 3 line of dialogue):

It was well below freezing temperatures in the middle of summer. Which was good weather in the Arctic. There was a crispness in the air, and brightness to the sky, and a freshness to everthing.

"Come on, go go go go..." Kal-El said as he stretched his legs at sub sonic speed. There was nothing like flying. The freedom of being above the earth, alone in the sky, but running, yes, running too had its perks.

The way it felt to move your muscles. Get some good breathing going. The exercise. The Flash knew all about that.

"HA HA," Kal El laughed as it he leaped from the ground, to clear one of the large glaceiers that was rapidly approaching. The crisp Arctic wind ruffled his hair mid leap. "This is the life," he smiled as he landed.

His smile quickly turned to anguish. Usually, the Fortress rocketed up from the ground, its ice crystals modeled after the Kryptonian Tundra casting shadows for three hundred feet in every direction. Today however, there was

rubble. The Fortress was destroyed.
