Blacklight. Suggestion. Instead of having GR be made by Mephisto, make it that he made the deal with Neron.
Actually, I was planning on having Neron be the reason behind a different Spirit of Vengeance. A little friendly rivalry between Marvel and DC's devils if you will.

Alright, if I understood bkhedr's PM correctly - and it was pretty clear - that's the end of the Hulk/Gladiator fight. The Hulk is ready to be recruited by Fate any time now.

(When you have Fate show up though, JB, the Hulk will have already reverted back to Banner. He will also be somewhere in Mexico.)

Sounds good. Fate's meeting with Atom should wrap up tomorrow, so expect a meeting soon.

And I'm already going to be filling the other DC gap with Question.

Just what the Defender need to go against a reality altering Doom...someone without super powers. :o

:p

Batman could take on Galactus.

Prep-time, baby.

You know what Ghost Rider can do? Nothing. Because he's not approved yet.:cmad:

"One Universe" RPG SEASON III SIGN-UP FORM

Screen Name:
Blacklight

Character you would like to play: Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider

Powers: Superhuman strength and durability. Invulnerability to heat and flame. Ability to project regular and ethereal flame or "Hellfire" so to speak. Can transform his bike into the Hellcycle using Hellfire. Can travel between interdimensional realms and along any surface with the Hellcycle. Wields a magical, seemingly indestructible chain made of hellfire. Has a "Penance Stare" that forces criminals to feel the pain of all the innocents they've harmed when they stare into the Rider's eyes. Wields shotgun that can produce Hellfire as well as regular bullets.

Brief biography of the character's history: Johnny Blaze was the son of Barton Blaze and Naomi Kale, born in Waukegan, Illinois. He spent his early years in the Quentin Carnival where his parents starred in a stunt show with Craig "Crash" Simpson. Blaze's family had ended when his mother abandoned Barton and Johnny and took the family's remaining two children, Barbara and Danny, with her. When his father died in a stunt, Blaze was adopted by Crash and Mona Simpson. The Simpsons helped Blaze by lying about his past, making him believe that his real mother was Clara Blaze, who had died. Blaze became an enthusiastic member of the Simpson clan, growing closer to and developing a fondness of their daughter, Roxanne. Johnny soon decided to follow in his father's and adopted father's footsteps and becomes a stunt cyclist in Crash's new show in Metropolis and Gotham— the Crash Simpson Stunt Cycle Extravaganza. Crash had become a real father figure in Blaze's eyes, and on learning of Crash's life-threatening cancer, Blaze turned to the occult. His studies led him to a spell which supposedly could summon Satan himself. After performing the ritual and summoned the lord of hell, he sold his soul to who he believes was Satan but actually is the demon Mephisto, in order to save the life of his stepfather. Crash Simpson's cancer was cured or at least Johnny believed it was, although Crash died soon after in a stunt trying to jump over 22 cars. Mephisto, when confronted by Blaze over Crash's death, declared that he had kept his end of the bargain. Johnny's exact words in the bargain had been for Crash to be spared the disease which was killing him, not for the cancer to be cured, though this was the obvious intent behind Johnny making the deal to begin with. True to his word, Crash had not died of the cancer, but instead had died during the failed jump. Which Mephisto quickly pointed out when he came to claim his prize. Blaze, still at the mercy of Mephisto, believed he would lose his soul to Mephisto until he was saved by Roxanne. Roxanne proclaimed her love for Blaze, and drove Mephisto away with the purity of her emotion. Blaze was unaware that Mephisto had bonded him with the demon Zarathos as an act of revenge for not being able to obtain Johnny's soul for himself. Johnny was transformed into a Ghost Rider, a leather-clad skeleton, his head cloaked in a sheath of flame, the night after Crash's death. While Johnny still had his soul, he was forced to punish the wicked and evil upon Mephisto's demands whenever needed. Since then, Johnny has become a drifter, and has since somewhat learned to keep control of his body from being fully under Zarathos' command, but not all the time.

List a few reasons why you have chosen that character: I'm more of a second-tier type character guy, and Ghost Rider tickles my fancy a bit. Of all the characters I've played, I'd like to try a mystic/hell oriented character for a change. Plus, Blaze is practically a clean slate, allowing for some subtle changes to incorporate small DC Elements into his OU mythos.

What can you bring to this game?: Kung-fu ninja clown clan! And a bike on fire. Oh, and some more kung-fu ninja clowns!

Color and font you plan on using for your character's speech: Bold Arial Black for Johnny (italicized for inner thought), Bold Italicized Arial Red for Zarathos, and Bold Arial Crimson for Ghost Rider.

How many times do you intend on posting a DAY IN the RPG: seven to the ninth power.

Please provide a small sample post with original content in the style that you plan to write your character in (must be at least 3 paragraphs long and contain at least 1 line of dialogue):

Everyday I hear their cries... Innocent victims.

"HELP!!!"

Everyday I hear their laughs... Those who do evil.

"Hahahahaha!!"

VRROOOM!

And everyday... I hear... him.

It's time, Johnny.

As Zarathos beckons, the stunt cyclist known as Johnny Blaze takes a seat on his bike. Revving the engine, and readying himself to blast forward onto the pavement as his skin slowly begins to fade away, revealing his white skull. The spikes on his jacket begin to portrude to lethal lengths. His chain around his chest begins to intensify in heat. And the wheels of his bike simultaneously ignite in the same hellish flames as his skull. Johnny Blaze has now become nothing more than a voice. The same type of voice he hears everyday. Nothing remains but the Rider... The Ghost Rider.

"Let's ride!"

Approved.

And I don't care how many members the Defenders has. Or from what company they are from.
If somebody wants to jump in the arc, they can. Simple as that.

Y'know what? Picking up a 3rd character for the sake of picking up a 3rd character isn't the right thing to do. As such, I don't know that I wish to continue with Flash. I know that other people are interested, and - truth be told - they can probably do a better job than I.

What I'm saying is that I'll be sticking as Spider-Man and Hulk, for now.

Oh, and a Bullseye post would be just swell. :yay:

Man, I'd have a Flash app up so fast...

But this week has been absolutely crazy, and I'll be working 12 hour shifts until Friday. So there's a very good chance I won't be able to post in any of my RPGs until then, as much as I want to.

...

Eh, **** it. I loved the idea of playing The Question, but when it came down to it, he's such a complicated character that I don't think I could ever pull him off. At least, not right now. So I'm dropping him. (Cue Byrd's "Your run was as epic as it was long" comment.)

Given my fandom of The Flash, particularly Wally, I think I'm going to apply for him. Expect an application shortly.

Damn, if I'd had known that Sensei was interested in Flash, I would've given him a heads-up so he could've beaten MB to--

Oh, MB. I didn't see you there. :O

Eat me, Arachnid. :cmad:

Though to be honest, if Sensei wants a shot, I'd be perfectly willing to hold off. Focusing my efforts entirely on building Superman's prescence back up in the RPG wouldn't nessecarily be the worst of ideas.

"One Universe" RPG SEASON II SIGN-UP FORM

Screen Name:
Catman_prb

Character you would like to play: John Constantine.

Powers: None...well a vast knowledge of the supernatural, limited magical powers, and the ability to be addicted to Silk Cut cigarrettes...So nothing much.

Brief biography of the character's history: Born in Liverpool, England, on May 10, 1953. His mother, Mary Anne died giving birth to John and his stillborn twin brother because an earlier abortion — forced on her by John's father, Thomas — had weakened her womb. Because he was unable to accept responsibility for his wife's death, Thomas blamed John and the pair grew up with a deep dislike for one another. He and his older sister Cheryl lived briefly with their aunt and uncle in Northampton to escape from their father's alcoholism and imprisonment (for stealing a female neighbour's underwear), then moved back to Liverpool. In the 1960s, a teenage John ran away from home, but not before a botched curse on his father caused him to become withered and frail. John eventually made his permanent home in London in 1969, rooming with Francis "Chas" Chandler, a young man who went on to become John's closest — and longest surviving — friend.

Three reasons why you have chosen that character:

1. He's John Constantine.

2. He's British. I can relate.

3. The Defenders are looking mighty interesting.

What can you bring to this game?: A cynical brit with a lack of people skills. And some IC stuff as well.

Color and font you plan on using for your character's speech: Franklin Gothic Medium

How many times do you intend on posting a DAY IN the RPG: As many as i need to.

Please provide a small sample post with original content in the style that you plan to write your character in (must be at least 3 paragraphs long and contain at least 1 line of dialogue):
The air in the cold dank basement was thick with smoke from the cigarette John held to his lips. He checked his watch impatiently, then reached into the pocket of his long overcoat and pulled out a hipflask, from which he drank deeply. Replacing it, he took another long drag on the cigarette, drumming his fingers on the crate on which he was perched. He checked his watch again.

There was suddenly a huge crack, that made some of the lighter crates jump slightly. John looked up impassively at the large split in reality, as smoke and brimstone trailed out of it. A large red demon with cloven hooves and long twisted horns stepped out of the rift, a collossal sword clutched in its clawed hand.

"I am the Bloodletter - favoured of all Neron's Warriors!"the creature screamed. John snorted.

"The world shall tremble and despair on the thoughts of its fate, once it beholds my terrible visage!" the demon declared. John laughed openly, stood up and pulled a small vial of holy water out of his jacket.

"Alright then mate. Just be a little more prompt next time," John said, and threw the holy water at it. It screeched and started melting into the ground, smoke pouring off of it as it cried out. John shook his head, still chuckling, and left the basement.
Do you know how to post pictures on the hype boards?:
