Even though America is only what, 5% of the world's population? Highly doubtful. If any world government arises, it should be the next evolution of the United Nations. Not to say that the UN is particularly effective, but if it were, it would be the best bet for the world's leaders.

it's not effective because the most powerful countries doesn't want to give up a little of sovereignty, that's their fault, not UN's.

In america were using social programs like affirmative action to mix up and desegrate white and black communities.

Perhaps if Saddam had done that while in charge of Iraq, like I'm saying, than this civil war would either not be happening or much smaller with less Iraqis involved.

Right now a shi.te leaves a car bomb in sunni community, and vice versa. It's incredibly easy because that country is so divided location wise.

If they were living together in the same neighborhoods that would be next to impossible, and sunni's and sh.ites would have been living together getting to know each other instead of living apart.

The Iraq situation only strenghtens my argument.

I agree with every word of that post. I think the soonest possible this could become a reality is a 120 years from now, if even then.

But it is the way of the future.

And integration does mean more peace, because when people from different worlds, live together, work together, get to know each other, and form caring relationships with each other, that's when real progress is made and we become united!

it's not something impossible, just look the European Union. There are a lot of different countries with different cultures, social and economic problems and still they live in peace and cooperating with each other.

yet there is no civil war occuring. slavery, segegration have been outlawed, because whites and blacks live together under the same democracy. The world's problems can't be solved over night. It takes time.

I think america should be the central world goverment, we are the most powerful Nation, its only right.

No way in hell,not with Europe gaining its strength back and America weakned by Iraq and dumb people.

I'm not talking about making america any bigger than holland. This wouldn't be america anymore, it would be earth. Think about it. If america and mexico join up, then your not joining with america. Your joining with mexico and america and every other country that has already joined.

Yeah, no. This is about perception. The world's not seeing: "Oh, look at that, Mexico decided to join with America to become more economically viable!", they're going to see: "Oh my! America just bought Mexico." Your plan is Western imperialism at its finest.

You remember what happened all those years ago when the Europeans did the same? Yeah, people got pissed, people started civil wars and fought for their independance. I recall America being the most prominent fighter for independance.

It's already like that in America. Federal, state, and local governments. It works.

Yeah, the American system works wonders... Y'know the way in which some states hold entirely different values and laws than other states, and some states even hold some anomisity towards one another? Yeah, great system.

Imperialism? I'm also part dutch, but I could care less, because it's irrelevant to who I am as a person. why would I be proud? It's nothing but DNA. Why would you want to remain divided? What have you got against somebody just for being American? That you need to seperate yourselves from us.

Who said I have anything against American people? I have nothing against other folks. I just don't have any desire to become part of a collective. It's not just DNA that makes up your person. Geographical location is one of, if not the most important factor in the development of your character and person. The divide shows us how different humanity can be, and have no interest in becoming this one unified population.

You might not realize it, but your pride in being dutch is like a white supremicist who says he's proud not be black. And as country after country comes together, more and more people will see it that way. They will look forward.

I hope you realize what a ridiculious statement that is. White supremacists believe themselves to be better than the other races. I'm Dutch, but that doesn't make me feel superior than anyone else. It just means I'm proud that I'm Dutch, am proud of my culture and the country's heritage. Having a little pride in your country doesn't make you some kind of racist scumbag.

Yes a lot of people say that now. But think about it. If we were doing this, as a citizen you would benefit economically, because the land in your country could be used to sell crops to other countries.

What you're not seeing is that some people like the seperation. Besides the fact that the unification of the world is extremely hard, it's also quite dangerous. World peace? Wars, how horrible they may be, provide population control. A true utopia is not desirable, as we will destroy the Earth even more, and it's overrun by people.

Let's ignore even that for a second. The history of Europe is littered with intercontinental warfare. Now we know peace, and it was through some very simple and effective measures that made it so that war was no longer economically viable, but we kept our independance. Buying up other countries isn't necessary, and would quite quickly fail.

A one world government wouldn't be about religions though... it would be about peace keeping/global law enforcement/abiding by humane laws and ethics/a WORLD COURT/ trying everyone the same... religion would have its own place
