maybe I should have elaborated a bit. You know how Ra's sought Bruce out? He found him in the prison. after he had witnessed his fighting prowess? (His wealth and family history didn't hurt either)
Who's to say he didn't do the same with Bane? What if he got Bane out after hearing of his fighting prowess in the deathmatches? What if he trained him to be a weapon for the LoS? Maybe even an Ubu type bodyguard for Talia?
I don't think THAT'S very imaginative. Just using BB's idea for TDKR and I've been very vocal about not wanting Bane to be involved with the LoS.
Ra's has a higher purpose to me.
Who cares what you want? You seem to love dumping on anyone who doesn't have the same ideas you have for the movie so let's hear that amazing ,brilliant screenplay you have in your head. And if it's not exactly like I want it then I can call it unimaginative and we'll be even.
I didn't say it was unimaginative because I didn't like it.
I said I didn't like it because it was unimaginative.
how is suggesting Nolan reusing an idea imaginative in any way,
You suggest Bane should be a muscle god who punches and beats everything up.
That's boring. Try harder he has to have multi-facted.
The Joker had a big smile and green hair in TDK. How unimaginative was that?
Batman had a cave under the mansion in begins. Unimaginative?
Bruce moved to a penthouse in the city. Unimaginative?
The Scarecrow using Fear Toxin, The Batman vigilante groupies, A signal with a Bat on it,Corrupt politicians and cops all unimaginative?
Has Bane ever worked for the LoS in the books before? Why can't he be trained in his tactical skills like Bruce was? He would be a doppleganger of sorts imo. Similar histories and training. Both losing families. Both taken under Ra's wing. Only Bane doesn't have the moral compass Bruce has. It would be like Bruce fighting a dark version of himself. Like when Superman fought his doppleganger. Or Luke fought Vader in that cave.
You're just telling me how it's been done before. Batman doesn't need to face a dark version of himself. He was pretty dark in TDK; his biggest problem in TDK was the way HE handled things.
How was Ra's not a Dark version of himself?
It's been done...and in these films as well.
You're idea isn't terrible just not imaginative, you took something more or less from a comic and said you want to see that.
I would hope Nolan do something a little more original and interesting than Bane punching things.
You do realize Bane is a tactical genius right?
I'm thinking a possible GPD chasing Batman type opening scene....
Not sure if it has been discussed. What do you think the opening scene will be?
I would like to see a massive fight scene & when he had defeated the bad guys you hear Alfred's voice say "Good Job, Master Wayne!" Then the surrounding fade & he is in the batcave, of course all decked out, on some kind of projector that he uses to keep in shape since he is being hunted by GPD.
Uhhh, its a jokeAnd he makes a good point. Just think outside the box a little.
The Joker was a tactical genius. The Riddler is a tactical genius. The General is a tactical genius. Anarchy is a tactical genius.
and yeah the TDK batman and how it ended was dark. This one shows him defeating that and rising out of it.
In the books Bane is self taught. he pored over book in the prison library. (and yeah I bought the Knightfall books when they came out) Then he was recruited by the military for the Venom tests. I say instead of the military creating the Venom that Ra's did. Much like he did the fear Toxin. (with Crane's help)
The "origin" story will be basically the same with a few twists.
Of course knowing Nolan he will be "unimaginative" and probably have the military involved just like the books. It's likely because of the military plane landing and the casting announcement of the military officer we got just recently.
he didn't make any point. he just opined that he doesn't want the LoS involved with Bane.
I think just how we got BB's opening as a loooooong flashback/dream of Bruce's while in prison, we can get the same with Bane...go right into his origin, from the Teddy bear to the initial experiences with Venom.
Then when he awakens from his sleepy state, it can be that grand 'escape' scene from the penitentiary he's in that everyone's been cloying for. This way, we tie in who Bane is quite early, as well as offering in an exciting breakout/action scene, all while paralleling Bruce's origin story of a traumatic childhood incident triggering the damaged man he is today.
I never mentioned Ra's Al Ghul in my post, though. I simply think both of them being pent up in prison, reflecting on their childhood, what got them there, and then a grand breakout, would make for a perfect introduction to Bane for the film, especially for all those entirely unfamiliar with the character. It's not parallel if it's the same thing. Plenty of people can have lives similar to Bruce without having to deal with Ra's al Ghul.
Riddler and Anarchy aren't in Nolan's films...
Nolan's villains have been self efficient from the start; they have not been trained by someone or had been a subsidiary of some other person.
But it is unimaginative. Bane being trained by Ra's = Batman Begins + Bane. All I'm saying is that there are many more things you can do with Bane other than him being trained by Ra's.
Who's unimaginative here? The only conclusion you can surmise from a possible plot point of the LoS training Bane, is -- Batman Begins + Bane? But it is unimaginative.
