Organic "Victor": A Doombot All Along? (new photo inside)

This is definitely very interesting. But where'd he get a Doom-bot from?

Im starting to think that the 3 looks of Doom are:
- Human form (with mask as seen in action figure)
- Armored Doom (as promised)
- cosmic doom
was disfigured doom even said to be one of his looks? Im thinkin that we wont see Doom come out of the metal freeze and take the throne, but instead he will come into play in his human form and explain how he did everything (when they first encounter him in Latveria)
Also, Its possible that Doom only attempts to take the power cosmic, but he is stopped, in which case it would be: Disfigured Doom, Normal human, Armored Doom...... **** now I dont know what to think
EDIT: OR, the human form IS cosmic Doom and they decided to take from the secret wars plot and have Doom restore his looks (after taking the Beyonders power) Maby?

Question everyone. It is impossible to judge anything by a single pic, so I'm not asking us to. but, I'm wondering what you'all think. judginjg the picture alone, does it look solid and grounded or cheesy and rather weak?
Does Doom come off like a powerful Monarch or some lame cartoony villain? Does the acting seem on point or does it seem poor?

He looks defiant and generally rather unperturbed and sure of himself, considering that he's the one in the neck lock. We don't know for sure who broke up the wall in the background. Its possible that Thing was the one flung into it and then managed to turn the tables. Its also quite possible that its not a shot from the film at all, just a pose.

Also, the caption has to be wrong. Doom was supposed to be dead but we (and Leonard) saw signs of life before the ship sailed.

I get the feeling it's only happening because Julian McMahon doesn't want to wear a mask for the entire film.

What should and shouldn't happen is seemingly being decided less by Story and more by the studio or the actors themselves. Don't know whether that means some creative things can be done, but I can only name a handful of moments when personal lavishing helped a film.

We don't know that. Story said from the beginning that there would be three versions of Doom.

It may not be a doombot but still.... wtf?!?!?!?! I want Doom not Victor. And if it is Victor where's his scar?

I really don't want Doom Lite again, I want bad ass, arogant, meglomanaical Doctor Doom. Is that too much to ask?

Is It possible that he was put in the machine and transformed back into victor?

I'd like to believe that a) he wouldn't have been able to replicate the machine's power in Latveria, b) that they wouldn't be stupid enough to make Doom actually ashamed of his form and waste more character development and c) that Reed would have had the sense to dismantle or lock down that contraption way back when.

It was Victor's men that assembled the machine using Reed's blueprints, so why wouldn't he be able to replicate it in Latveria....I'm not saying thats what he did, I actually don't think thats the scenario....but its feasible....

Is he wearing a green coat or is it just the lighting?

I say thats a Doombot.
Victor could be using the Dictator cliche of having thousands of look alikes, but since the world knows Victor as normal and I don't think people would want to follow a giant metal monster he uses Doombots with rubber skin or something. I mean Doom Enterprises or whatever would try to keep it under wraps that there founder went haywire put on a metal mask and covered himself in a green bedsheet.

Victor looks fine to me. And since we don't know the context of the conversation taking place, I don't think we can fairly say Julian's "performance" is cheesy or solid. He's not really performing for us in that still. LOL

McMahon's never been the issue for me. The issue for me is that he should sound like Simon Templeman when in Doom's armor, which he doesn't. It's not even barotone. I could use iMovie and distort his voice in my Computer Publishing class in a few seconds. It wasn't that hard. Here's hoping he's given better material to work with.

Thing looks alittle cheesy there.....sharp cheddar in fact....:o :oldrazz:

The most reasonable explanation is that after stealing the power cosmic Doom reverts himself to normal appearance. It makes sense. Being as vain as he is, he'd miss his normal appearance and even in the comics attempted to regain his appearance.

Also, when he's defeated, it would be a powerful image of him reverting back to his metallic appearance (Even though the concept sucks).

Allow me to bring this debate of Victor, this pic, comic book Doom, and all things Doom to this question: When Doom does absorb the Power Cosmic, does anyone actually think we will see Doom with the Power Cosmic in armored Doom, and not just him reverting to his "handsome" self, having all this power...you know, I honestly never thought that this would even be an issue, I figured in all honesty that Doom would be in armor, using whatever technique to steal the Surfer's power, and he would go on a worldwide quest to conquer, to defeat the F4, and destroy Richards....not seeing him as Victor the whole movie...my faith is slowing dying, and to think, this movie is suppose to be the most anticipated film of the year for me...

I think many here are closing their eyes to a very real fact; Dr. DOOM is DR.DOOM. not victor.
The identity of DOOM is itself important. That image, the armor, the cape, the mask, all represent a very important identity. That of Dr. DOOM. that is why him reverting back to victor under the theory that he gains SS's powers doesn't make sense and doesn't work.
some of us are so desperate to want to love this movie that we are closing our eyes to the most obvious flaw.
Victor, the human, has NO PLACE in a (good) FF movie.
anybody who puts him in a FF has no concept of the character nor the FF.
as for those whishing that it is a doombot, please allow me to remind you that the term is DOOM bot not victor bot (which has never existed)

In the comic books the whole reason Doom started wearing the armor was because he could not bear for anyone to see his damaged face.

His hatred of Richards was fueled not only by the fact that Reed had been right about his calculations being off in the comic book but that his error which he contends was Reed's sabotage resulted in his hideous scarring.

Now if that is what triggered his adoption of the mask and the armor what is so odd about him using the PC to reverse the problem and to restore his true face and as a bonus his perfect body.

This is perfectly in keeping with his obsession over his appearance and face in the first movie.

Now this is not even some obsure argument and to argue that those who are suggesting it as a reason for Victor having a perfect human appearance is a stretch is in itself puzzling.

It is at this point that I start to think that a bias is fueling an argument because biases often trumps logic.
