Joe Chill!

I got a feeling in Batman '89 he wasn't called Joe Chill. I think it was Jack something....:o

And not the guy who killed Bruce's folks.

I've always wondered -- did EVERY ninja get that much attention during training?

I personally don't think so.

I believe Bruce was going to be the heir to Ras...in a sense becoming the next Ras, there's no way Ras trained everyone the same way he trained bruce. Hence why when Bruce says "I can't beat 2 of your pawns?". Because bruce knows he is far better than them. I think a lot of them would of had classes to go too to learn how to become a ninja.

Makes sense. And that's what Bale says? I never understood why he claimed he couldn't beat two of Ra's' ninjas...

He was asking. "I can't beat 2 of your pawns?"

He was asking. "I can't beat 2 of your pawns?"

I think it was more of a rhetorical question.

I don't think Ra's recruits all his ninja's and trains them as Bruce. As he says when he crashes the party...

"It should be you standing by my side, saving the world."

Yeah, rhetorical. Like "Are you kidding me? I can beat the s**t out of these 2 b**ches".

Cool vid. I don't think he stayed on his feet, and I believe he injured his lower legs. Still pretty damned good!

Bruce would have stuck the landing, or minded his surroundings to begin with.

Wow, I didn't know that.

Heres the exact quote: "As a tip of the hat to hardcore Bat-Fans – and to Joe Chill – the scene in this movie showed Jack and another man responsible for the killing. It was hoped that would satisfy the majority of generations of Batmaniacs"

Its from the introduction page to Batman in the Fifties comic collection

...Please. My first interpretation of that is retroactive pandering. "See how faithful we were etc."

Like, really? Is there anything in the film to suggest that the lackey's name is Joe Chill? Otherwise, I'm going to take that with a grain of salt.

Two or so years ? It felt like 3-6 months the most to me. Especially with the prisoner (Ras wanted Bruce to execute) looking pretty much the same when Bruce first saw him.

I think most of those 7 years dealt with Bruce hanging out with criminals to see what makes them tick. And him rotting in prison with 'em. That's what I got from that film. I don't think Nolan and co. executed those 7 years well at all. But that's just me.
I think your forgetting he also learned varous fighting styles including martial arts before he joined the LOS including Japanese Jujitsu.

Bruce beats up various prisoners and when he gets to the league fortress Ras/Ducard and Bruce little fights lines are

Are you ready to begin?.

I can.... I can barely stand.

Death does not wait for you to be ready!

Death is not considerate or fair!

And make no mistake, here you face death.

Tiger.

Jujitsu.

Panther.

You're skilled. But this is not a dance.

And you are afraid.

But not of me.

Tell us, Mr. Wayne...

...what do you fear?.

While Bruce was beaten by those martial art's styles, good old El Payaso was cruelly beaten by those lines. :awesome:

I always saw the 'two pawns' line as Bruce being a bit cocky like he was saying you think I can't take out two of your guys when I burned your fortress to the ground, beat a bunch of your guys and saved your life.

He was being patronising and Sarcastic

I got the vibe Bruce was to become Ras successor or at the very least a general in the LOS.

Ducard: You are defending a city so corrupt, we have infiltrated every level of its infrastructure. When I found you in that jail, you were lost. But I believed in you. I took away your fear, and showed you a path. You were my greatest student It should be you standing by my side, saving the world.

[Bruce is refusing to demonstrate his commitment to justice by executing a criminal]
Ra's Al Ghul: You cannot lead these men unless you are prepared to do what is necessary to defeat evil.
Bruce Wayne: And where would I be leading these men?
Ra's Al Ghul: Gotham. As Gotham's favored son you will be ideally placed to strike at the heart of criminality.
