For what it's worth, as an Artist......I like your work. It's good stuff.

Im not wrong about anthing I said here.
To go a step further Cassaday himself would admit what he did
was wrong.
So I don't care what you think about the fact of the situation or my art to be
perfectly honest.
I just brought it into the light what the great Cassaday did because some people were
posting in the "Post your favourite Batman pictures !" thread a drawing
that was aquired by theft.
Just a fact.
Let's move on.

There are still some people on these boards who won't/can't even admit that; All they can come up with is 'why would Cassiday bother/need to swipe?' - who knows? But it's obvious that he did.

Some folk definately owe Wams an apology - he had to take a fair bit of abuse from people and even now, when the proof has been presented, they havent got the conscience feel the need to apolgise. . I won't enter a slanging match by naming names, but they know who they are.


On a slightly different note - Wams: - Your other Stuff that you posted is amazing! Hmmm, Maybe there's a little bit of jealousy at the heart of some peoples posts fed by the realisation that they don't (and never will have) your talent. ?????

couple things:

1. if the drawing was traced, it would be exactly the same, therefore it is not traced. there are similarities, yes. but since theres only similarities and its not the exact same, then that means at most the drawing was inspired by, influenced by, or based on wams drawing (as i've mentioned before). this cannot be disputed as the overlay you folks produced proves that! so to say he straight up traced the drawing is a false claim.

2. what efforts have been made by wams to take this situation to cassaday? because as far as im concerned, this situation has absolutely no place in a public forum. if wams has a problem the situation and feels he's been ripped off, then he should take it to cassaday instead of whining about it on a forum. the situation is between wams and cassaday, thats where it belongs.

3. this thread has been going for 6 pages. you guys believe he traced it, i dont. we've all said everything we could have possibly said, and its obvious that no ones changing their mind on their stance at this point. we could keep repeating ourselves like we have been for pages, but its gonna accomplish nothing. and if its gonna accomplish nothing then its just a waste of our time. we've all made our cases and we've all made our decisions. so how about we drop it and move on?

the key piece showing that style costume was a traced drawing of WAMS art

they say this as if its fact. but if it were traced, then it would be exactly the same drawing...which its far from being. so their "factual claim" of it being traced is not true.

A)a date on the art means nothing it can be retconned later with photoshop.
B) Are you an Artist? (serious question because most of the artist on the thread have seen the photo comparisons and thereby back our position) and can you see the pics in this thread?

he's already got his name, shortcuts are often used by artists on a strict deadline (none of his monthly books are solicited untill at least a few issues are in the can a.k.a. he ain't that fast)
the original statement by Wams taken from the post ur fav pic thread. Wams worked for WB consumer products, and on the show(design work) I'm not saying the shading came from him but your example pic very well could also be Wams work

Yeah, far as I know, I've been told by my professors that apparently once you draw something, it's already copyrighted simply b/c it's your image. So, this would have to something that Wams- if he has proof beyond hearsay- can bring to a lawyer.

i dont remember reading anywhere the detailed circumstances of you contacting cassaday about the situation and what resulted from it. if it has been posted somewhere and i missed it, then i apologize...just point out to me where its at so i can read it.

Here's what I want to know, for what reason was the drawing changed? Did the DC editors make him or did Wams personally ask him? I don't think the two pictures are enough alike to be considered stealing another person's work, but I don't really know the laws on that.
