Parts I and II (Spoiler Thread)

Two episodes in and there’s more good than bad, but the bad definitely stands out.

Reva thus far seems too one dimensional and a rather weak antagonist. The Grand Inquisitor is pretty lame compared to how he was portrayed in Rebels, and went out like a little b****. At least he looked somewhat better than from the first trailer.

Debra Chow’s directing has been hit or miss, similar to that of Robert Rodriguez’s in Book of Boba Fett. Pacing in the action/chase from episode 2 could have been better. Aside from Ewan, Jimmy (Bail), and Joel (Uncle Owen), who were all great, most of the acting from the side characters fell kinda flat.

Little Leia was great and showed the sass we all saw in her in the OT. You kinda get a better understanding on why she confided in Obi-Wan when she asked for his help in ANH.

It was so random seeing Flea in this lol. It was hard to take him serious in those role because I just see him as Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers and not an actor. Loved Temuera’s cameo though it was kinda sad to see his character going from a Clone Trooper to a beggar on the streets.

Second episode ended on a high note now that Obi-Wan knows that Anakin is alive and then we got a little tease of Vader

Hope the next episode is good

On the plus side, lil Leia still be slaying:

The absolute highlight of the show so far! :D

They did a good job of hiding anything related to
Leia
from the trailers and other materials.
Now that I've seen the episode though, I do remember seeing leaks about this months ago. I had almost forgotten about them because I assumed it wouldn't be true. Need to check who said it.

Order 66:

I wonder if Disney regrets including this scene with what happened in Texas...

I'm surprised they didn't delay the premiere or do a last minute edit of some sort.

no idea about Leia being in this loved it and my boy Smits
Reva was over the top and she was clearly one of the students in the order 66 scene

loved the unce owen line when he tells u don't care bout the kid only if he's force sensitive nice touch more of that plz and not this Reva character but i know i won't get that

HATE HATE SEEING musicians in my tv shows and movies i always see the musician and not the character

Vader tease was great

So Reva hates Kenobi because it was his image used to bring the Jedi to the temple to die. So this is all a misunderstanding and she will save the day by the end of the series. Or something to that extent. Yeah this show is for children, because the writing is very basic. There are some scenes with very poor dialogue.

I just can't get behind Obi-Wan meeting
Leia
and fighting
Vader
between ROTS and ANH.

It seems like they are already trying to tie Rey into Obi-wan. The food eating scene and the burying the lightsabers in the dessert are trying too hard.

I always got the impression that Leia knew him only as somebody her Father trusted.
I honestly don't think that would be enough to rely the fate of the rebellion on and name her kid after him. The "Ben Kenobi? Where is he?" line seems to imply familiarity. She also doesn't at all introduce herself in ANH or mention Bail Organa by name. She assumes Obi-Wan will know, despite the fact that she doesn't know the truth about her real father yet. ;)

It's the same as "Obi-Wan once thought as you did", which I know some people have tried to explain, but makes very little sense in the context of Episode III.

Okay, I can maybe look past the Leia thing.

And I know there are things that don't make sense in ANH in the context of the prequels but should they really add even more inconsistencies?

In ANH Vader says "When I left you I was but a learner, now I am the master". This already didn't fit with how Anakin viewed himself in ROTS. Now, however, the line doesn't make any sense.

It’s obvious that Reva has some personal vendetta against Kenobi but if that ends up being the reason then that would be totally lame

But yeah, it’s clearly setting up for Reva to turn good and then probably die at the hands of Vader. Now, where have I seen that before?

Oh yeah…

If anything is going to address that it's this show though. We still have 4 episodes to go. "Obi-Wan once thought as you did" already works better with them meeting again, who knows what they can do to address the other line and recontextualize it.

It could also be that she blames him for Anakin becoming Vader and killing the Jedi, but this really makes no sense. She serves Vader.

Easy - Vader obviously fails on beating Obi in this. In ANH, Obi is older... slower... Anakin is being a dick // wins.

Vader didn't think of himself as a learner in ROTS and he certainly wouldn't think of himself as one ten years later.

Yes that’s what irks me the most. The line clearly means they hadn’t seen each other since Revenge of Sith. Oh well.

The Grand Inquisitor thing is almost certainly a bait and switch. The existence of Dave Filoni as a person of influence within Lucasfilm’s live action projects is reason enough to think that.

Other than that, the darker tone and the prequel nostalgia has sustained me. It’s an acceptable couple of episodes.
