I think the threat would have been downsized by a large margin. But the Fantastic 4, their development and dynamic as a team would have to be non-existent for that movie to be a disaster.

I think we can safely cross-out Mole Man as a main threat in any F4 films. He's basically the M-Baku of this film and I could see him returning in the sequel.
