I thought sir Malcolm was from Dracula, isn't his daughter Mina?
Very effective pilot -- I'm hooked! Atmospheric with strong acting all-round (like this interpretation of Frankenstein and his BFF). Surprising amount of graphic violence and nudity.
Too bad it wasn't Eva Green ...
The first episode was better than I was expecting. It didn't go too deep into what's going on but gave enough to show you this won't be the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen movie.
Which is a relief this only shares the concept of that movie and not the quality. That movie was god awful
The premise is very complex. Of course there is going to be a lot of exposition.I was quite hyped for this, and after watching the pilot a few times now I am just not sure. The first 15 mins is great, especially the mini siege. I wasn't even annoyed by the clear and poorly executed call back to Casino Royale. But then the rest of the episode happens.
Nothing is quite as boring as hearing people talk about all the incredible and awe inspiring things they have and will see. About how different and amazing they themselves are. It felt like setup piled on top of more setup. I get that it is the pilot, and if this is restricted to simply the pilot, good. But if the show is like that, I don't know how long I will be able to last.
I've not read the comic but just about everything Moore does is loved then hated when it's transformed into a movie. As a comic, the League is some of the best work Moore has done. As for the show, I am excited about it.
Give it time. Eva Green must have at least one nude scene in every mature project that she's involved in. It's in her contract.
Original. In one of the BTS videos, John Logan says he wanted the core trio (Chandler, Ives and Sir Malcolm) to be characters of his own creation working within the world of these literary works.
Movie was bad, the comic is fantastic. That movie was god awful
Is it really that complex? No more so then GoT, and they managed a pilot that wasn't held down by it.The premise is very complex. Of course there is going to be a lot of exposition.
Premiere tonight. Tell your friends.
