Cap, ever since I first started lurking here, I've looked to your posts as being similar to how I felt about things. Maybe it's because we're the same age (based on that thread of ASM covers that came out the month we were born). I agree with EVERYTHING you wrote in that post (although I didn't really follow DD). So, yes, I have to agree with you there about Joe Q. I HATED what he did to Spider-Man, but he has certainly gotten me back into the Marvel Universe!
And for the record, I don't totally mind Harry's return (considering Norman's, it makes sense) and I don't mind Norman forgetting Spidey's id (it has happened several times, so even if I hate the Mephisto method, I can chalk it up to his usual "amnesia").
But, although they touched on the "psychic blind spot" and how it works, we still don't know who did this with Pete, or who Pete thinks he did this with.
You know, in all fairness; while i feel the current direction is hit or miss, i've kind of felt that way about Spider-Man comics as a whole since David Michelinie left. I think his was the last run that remained consistently entertaining to me...despite the fact that he was editorially mandated to make Peter allow Venom to run free (so Venom could get his own books going), as if the Peter Parker created by Lee & Ditko would EVER let a maniac like Brock run free.

Yes, current run; "Hit or miss", but with a decent lean towards "hit", in my opinion.
Honestly, i'd like to see the book revert back to monthly with just one creative team on it <coughcough SLOTT/ROMITA Jr., cough>

That, and a Spidey Team-Up book with rotating teams would be my ideal scenario...
