Amazing Spider-Man: Love it or Leave it?

  • ASM is great and I still enjoy it.

  • ASM is garbage and Spider-Man is dead.

Some of those pictures just have him next to a female character. How does that make him a swinger? And some of them are him getting kissed when he doesn't want it. There are very few of him wanting the kiss or affection. And some of those are repeated with the internal art like the one with Matty from the relaunch, where he's getting a kiss he doesn't want because he's married to MJ. Some he's protecting the woman. He's even getting attacked by the chick in some of them...:whatever:

They're just a bunch of pictures of Spider-Man and a female character. Very few have anything to do with him romantically (the ones that do are either MJ or Gwen!). Talk about cherry picking.

C'mon, grow a sense of humor man. She obviously posted these a little tongue in cheek. Not everything has to be fodder for argument.

Great collage by the way, MW. Even I had forgotten how many women, even fleetingly, have gone in and out of the title. And Gwen is drawn like a Super-Villainess when she was introduced by Ditko. My favorite is the Black Widow one from What If?

From time-to-time I pick up the trades of the latest arcs, when they draw me in. To the biggest part, I feel the title is pretty hit and miss, when it comes down to overall story. To my recollection, the only one I've really enjoyed thus far was the Anti-Venom story arc.

I'm enjoying Ultimate Spider-man more and I'm looking forward to the mini-series focusing on the Clone Saga.

Everyone knows OMD was utter filth, but I find even when turning an angry, skeptic eye (y'know, just to look like an idiot), I still can't help but find ASM's current stories to extremely fun, engrossing, and, unsurprisingly, much like the classic Spidey stories of the 60s and 70s...

BND started off pretty rough, with one good story here, two okay stories there, etc...but over the past 6 months or so it's just continued to pick up steam, and is almost constantly of high quality. In both writing and art.

You should have added another choice on the polls. I'm in the middle leaning more towards the "Stop collecting" side. I collect on and off at the moment. ASM just doesn't catch my attention like it use to. The reason for my collecting now is due to the "return" of MJ even though that has been a pretty big let down for me so far. I still have the Black Cat returning to look foward to, but I'm really hoping that Marvel hasn't reverted her back to the "Only care about Spider-man" version of herself because she developed past that.

Heh, didn't Gwen look positively evil? And the Black Widow entry was just WRONG, poor Spidey! Meanwhile, here's more goodness (or badness).

Psycopathic insect women, old hookers, old flames, and would be daughters all want to hit it...Shanthra says spidey is a sex freak on CNN, Betty goes Ramba, and an old hooker offers a treat.

Ero and the Queen want babies. Meanwhile, horny neighbors speculate. And embrace the wrongness with Sarah!
(BTW, anyone that's seen Gabriel knows that's gotta be Peter's kid...editorial change be damned. And we know Sarah looks like Gwen. Osborne LIED. I look for another retcon!)

Is it any wonder Spidey is now in another era of loose hookups? So I vote firmly neutral as far as loving or leaving it.

I was into spider-mans dark reign, it was extremely unpredictable. But! I really hate mary jane. When I pick up a comic-book I want to see action, not spiderman laying in a bed hung over! ( ASM601 )

^ha.....a lot of the boys are cheering to see Pete in bed drunk and sleeping around.

You sick? :cwink:
