Iron Man Pepper Potts Has Been Cast!

Raod to Perdition was nominated for Best Supporting Actor, Best Cinematography, Best Score, Best Art Dirction, and Best Sound. And A History of Violence was nominated for Best Supporting Actor and Best Adapted Screenplay.

I'd like to think that Road to Perdition's source is seemingly seen in a different light than that of Iron Man, Spidey, or Bats.

So then it's superhero movies that are discriminated against, not comic book films.

Batman begins was nominated for Best Cinematography, Batman won for Best Art Direction-Set Decoration.

Exactly, though I'd like to label Road to Perdition as a graphic novel, rather than a comic book. GN just sounds...more "respectable". ;)

Still technical categories.

Still technical categories.

Oh sure, "technically" speaking:cwink:

Of course, cinematography is in the upper echelon of those "techie" awards... it is the major amongst the minors.

(Do you understand the words that are coming out of my computer?):woot:

Road To Perdition didn´t even assume it was based on a comic book, I believe they used the word "novel" on the credits. Plus it´s not a genre movie, it´s a crime drama and these often get major nominations.

And....
Dick Tracy...Won Best Art Direction, Best Make-Up and Original Song, it was also nominated for Best Supporting actor, Best Cinematography, Best Costume Design and Best Sound.

Most of these are considered technical awards, nomination for supporting actor or actress is often given to movies that don´t stand a chance at other big categories - Marisa Tomei for My Cousin Vinny, Pat Morita for Karate Kid, etc.

As I said, it's superhero movies that get discriminated against. Mainly.

Wow, Robert Dowey Jr, Terrance Howard and Gwyneth Paltrow all in one movie!!!:wow:

If anything goes wrong in this movie, the acting won't definately be a factor!!! What amazing casting, I can't wait for this movie!!!:yay:

The cast is shaping up to be a great one. This came out of nowhere. First Downey, then Howard, and now Paltrow. While I've never thought of her for the role, she's a really good choice...And a very talented actress. So far, the movie has a lot going for it.

Now for Mandarin.

I wonder what the budget on this film is gonna be. We know it won't exceed 180 million...that's for sure. I'm guessing around 120-140 million range.

Another Undeserving Hollywood Lib Lands A Dream Roll In The Land Of Comic Book Movies....are There No Female Ironman Fans That Can Be Cast? I Can See Were This Movie Is Going Ironman Is Hired By The United Nations To Free France From The Terrany Of George Bush. .................pass!!!!!

I say all Terrans must stop their terrany.......:hyper: :csad:

Why so much hate against paltrow? I like her. She's never been in any movies that I really enjoyed save for Seven. Not that her films were bad, they just held little interest to me. Oh wait i did like that film she did with Michael Douglas, forgot the name though.

AMEN! The goodness of IM will fall on the writers and the director.

well i found her to be the weakest link in the movie, but only in the last few scenes. When Iron Monger first attacks and is batting the SHIELD agents around she just casually walks out of the building and calls for help:huh: i mean theres an evil mastermind in a giant robot going ape and you just walk out? and then some of her dialogue after that just sounded terribly forced

I really love Gwyneth Paltrow's performance as Pepper Potts; thought that it's probably her most likable role, and she looks smokin' hot (which is amazing since she has two kids already). I look forward to see her again in IM2.

I've never really been into her before but damn...

SHE WAS HOT IN THIS MOVIE.

I can't put my finger on it...maybe it was the hair?

For the record, she RAN out of the building with Iron Monger destroying SHIELD agents in the background. I actually enjoyed that part for a laugh because she didn't even try to warn them about what was chasing her. She just ran by, like, "Oh, you'll know in a few seconds." And she may have been my favorite female lead in a superhero flick yet. I'm not normally a fan of hers (still bitter over her beating Cate Blanchett for that Oscar), but I thought she did great in this movie.

just watched it again right now, she definatly walks out of the building, she runs from Iron Monger, but as soon as shes out of the building shes just walking

^After she's out of the building? Where did you expect her to go after she called for help? If she left, she'd be abandoning Tony, which is the one she doesn't do. And the director is the one who tells people whether they should be running or walking, anyway.

Tony wasn't there????? and i think i was wrong, i think Tony might have actually called her, this is when Iron Monger first appears, he's chasing her, if some person was trying to murder me i wouldnt just stop running as soon as i'm out of the building they were in, and ya i guess thats the directors fault or w/e, but her lines following that were really hollow, everything else she did was good though
