Actually it's nto just a rumor. The extra was put there by Rami to look like Punisher.

According to IMDb he was the stunt double of Jane in the Punisher.

They should have had Tobey Maguire in it at the University credited as "Unnamed Student". He could've bumped into Bruce and knocked his stuff over or something as Bruce is running by. Tobey looks to him running away, "...what was that?" he could even have a camera around his neck! They could get away with that!

I think if Marvel can get the rights back to the Spidey movies somehow, whether by purchasing the franchise back or claiming them after the rights have expired, we shouldn't count Spidey out of the Marvel studios' cross pollinations.

Aw, that would have been cool. I mean they didn't HAVE to call him Peter. Just some guy played by Tobey Maguire dressed like movie Peter walking by...no one would put it together. Actually a cool cameo would've been as Bruce is talking to Betty there is Maguire behind them on the phone when sirens are heard in the background and Tobey looks around and runs off, all in the background of the scene.


Oh well. As I said in another thread, I suspect if The Avengers is a smash hit in 2011 (or 2012, if it's delayed), then Sony and Fox will be more than willing to pimp their upcoming installments with cameos by Jackman and/or whoever is playing Spidey at that time.
