Ant-Man Petition for Edgar Wright's return

It's been his movie longer than RDJ has been Iron Man. He is one of my favorite directors and I want to see his vision. Why not sign?

If Edgar Wright feels so strongly that the changes Marvel and Disney want made to his script that it is no longer his film then I wouldn't want to see him waste his time making it. They probably want it to line up with the established universe as it is now. He does not. If he forces himself to make it not only will the film suffer for someone not giving their A game, but his career will suffer for not making a good film.

I'll pass.

I'm as big an Edgar Wright fan as they come, but this seems a pointless exercise. Even if this got a million signatures, what will happen? The men in suits forcibly drag Wright back onto the movie set at gunpoint? If he's gone, he's gone, and if he came back the same problems that made him walk would still be brewing. I'd rather he didn't make the film if his heart isn't in it. That said, if Marvel and Wright could mend fences and come up with some solution that made them both happy, that would be the ideal situation.... I don't see it happening, though.

Because internet petitions are stupid and accomplish nothing? I've said before that I'd like Wright back, but this will have no impact on whether or not he comes back.

Wright had his turn with the film; he had eight years to make the film, and after reading some of the details about the changes he made to the mythology, I'm happy the production is in suspended animation, as the project would become the Chinese Democracy of the MCU.

As a corollary, if the studio gave in and let Wright have carte blanche to make the movie he originally wanted --- i.e., a standalone with no connection to the MCU --- then we'd get an INO Hank Pym/Scott Lang buddy movie/parody of the genre without any reference to The Avengers whatsoever.

In both cases, yeah, I'll pass.
