Correct. He stopped ferrying the souls from this world to the next and the curse of Calypso turned him into the tentacle faced monster. Will shouldn't look anything like Davy Jones unless he has stopped ferrying souls.

Which is how he developed a reputation. He was probably captain of the Flying Dutchman for the longest time, at least for a hundred years. He was the one who convened the *first* Brethren Court to bind Calypso in human form. There were four Brethren Courts to meet over *centuries* of time.

Well considering both Octopus Head and Megapus were both killed in AWE, pointless to have a guy who wrote a song about an octopus in the new one.

Erz, don't be silly. Why on earth would they want to have an epic sea battle with 1,000 Royal navy ships vs 100 pirate ships? Foolish. NO ONE would want to see that grand scale finale for POTC while Jack is handling ****. Never.

It's the 2nd best movie in the franchise for me. The finale is a bit silly but I still love it.

You're right. But they still should still make it a big plot point to gather the pirate ships together and use a good portion of the movie to build it up.

It's feasible that he's kept his duty and that something will happen on his off day.
