I'm just glad they made an effort to distance themselves from the past films. I liked that there was no Pearl or that old crew. They were great, but it was better without them. I just loved seeing Jack and Barbossa on their own and not being tied down to Will and Elizabeth's stories. It was so nice.

I think Angelica finding the voodoo doll on the beach is just a playful thing. I doubt it will go anywhere. I would prefer for a different love interest in each film.

And in the next film, he can have the Pearl. We don't need to see them get it out of the bottle. Jack just can escape from some place and Gibbs can have the sails go up.

And I'd say go in the opposite direction for Jack's brother. Go with someone like Hugh Jackman. They should be complete opposites. A well respected conventional society type. Someone who Jack cannot stand. It would make no goddamn sense to use Brand. Yes, they share similar mannerisms, but Jack became like he is now because of bein trapped on that island. He was never like that beforehand. So for Brand to be like him is stupid.

Yeah, casting Brand as Jack's brother would be utterly terrible.

You're one of the few that still thinks the story was a mess. I can't see how much more straight-forward it was. Nobody was backstabbing or double-crossing anyone

Saw it. The mermaid love story was weak and forced. Blackbeard was a softie, he should have been way more evil. Angelica was annoying as hell.

Why did Blackbeard need the fountain of youth to escape the prophecy of being killed by the one legged man?
I mean.... The fountain of youth does not make one immortal. It only gives you extra years of life that are taken from another life. You only are able to live longer. Still if you take for example 20 eyars from another life, a sword of bullet will still kill you as you are not immortal. So even if Blackbeard would have gotten 30 extra years from the fountain of youth, the one legged man would still kill him. The fountain of youth would have never saved Blackbeard from the one legged man.

agree, the movie was quite weak and felt too cheap. looking at the budget, i don't know where all the money went. no big cg characters, no big battles, no ship battles.
and at the spoiler piece, you are quite right. never looked at it that way.

That's why i liked it. There didn't need to be another gimmicky like cruw. They kind of had it with the zombies, but I just liked how they didn't need to go so big again.

the worst part about the zombies was that the make-up on the zombies was minimal. i mean TV_budget_cheap. they didnt even use a lot of make up.

they looked like hungry pirates with tattoos.


i must bow down to Bruckheimer. he did it. this was a fantastic movie to get a big paycheck. t:

Black Swan's story and acting deserves the full ticket price.

POTC is supposed to be a SUMMER BLOCKBUSTER ADVENTURE MOVIE. its not a movie that you only watch for the story. and the story fails,the acting ,fails and the characters fail. so yes the ticket should be cheaper for POTC 4.
