Pixar's SOUL

I don’t think this be any controversy for the film as a sketch comedy performer to be honest.

I just think as others have stated, the advertising is focusing on the positive life aspects of the film, not the whole dying part at the moment.

Between this movie, Coco and Onward, Disney has sure been obsessed with death themes lately.

If you really dig into it, every movie Disney released since Snow White, animated or not, has at least one underlying rather dark theme.

This is true, I guess it just struck me that this is the second Disney movie in recent years to have a major afterlife theme, the other one being Coco.

This one seems like it'll tap into more existential themes, so that'll be interesting to see.

Yeah I think every Disney movie is pretty dark in its own way, even the more comedic ones.

Wonder if this one is gonna go straight to Disney+.

I'd certainly watch it for free on Disney+ but I wouldn't pay premium for it.

When pixar is feeling the heat you know it's serious.

Yeah it looks like the whole Disney Plus release strategy was not very successful with Mulan which is kind of what most of us thought anyways.

You just can't release these big budget movies on streaming and expect big returns and it makes way more financial sense to just push everything back, because the theatres is where the movies are the most successful even with the pandemic going on and if they were smart they would do the same thing with this movie.

but what they gonna do in 2 years, when they have 30-40 movies to release in a short time? Those will cannibalise each other...

I won‘t go to the cinema so many times and I bet others too...especially with the economic crisis/depression that will be then
An evening in the cinema costs me 15€ + 7€ snacks (the small size) + parking fees + fuel...I can afford 4-5 cinema experiences a year...
