Pixar has "Brave" next summer and "Monsters University" for June 2013. What comes after that though?
Deadline reports that Disney has set a release date for that project - November 27th 2013. There's no title or specific details of who's involved other than the fact that it's an original, non-sequel Pixar film.
"Up" director Pete Docter and "Toy Story 3" writer Michael Arndt were both linked to an unknown Pirxar project last year, could this be it?

Its going to be Car 3!!...

John Lasseter is going to keep on making Cars movies until one of them gets over a 90% on rottentomatoes... :csad:

It's still heartbreaking to think about what happened to Newt. :csad:

They said it's going to be an original movie, so no sequels. Anyway, looking forward to know more details about this project.

Should be interesting to see what this project is. Hopefully they announce what it is soon.

I wish they hadn't dropped Kindom of the Elves, the Phillip K Dick adaptation they were working on. That said I'm always open to original properties.

I really don't care to see pixar sequels, even one to the incredibles to tell you the truth.

Doesn't matter if its going to be a sequel or an original film, because it's Pixar and that means that it'll both be critically acclaimed and make at least $150 to $200 million domestic box office when its run ends.

Truth be told, I wish Pixar wasn't doing Monsters University. I think that after Brave they should have just made original films for at least a couple more years. 3 years in a row with sequels is too much TBH.

I actually hope Monsters University gets shelved.

I'm glad this 2013 film will be original

Making 4 sequels out of all the movies Pixar have done so far isn't bad. That's better than what other studios would usually do. And they said Monsters University would be their sequel/prequel movie for awhile.

Here's the weird thing. Back in 2009 it was reported that Disney shelved King of Elves but then in 2010, they were reports stating that Disney was reworking on the project.

I don't know what the project's current status is right now and although I don't want to get my hopes high, I do hope that there's a small chance that the report is true and that the project is moving forward.

so 2 movies in 2013?

Yeah, two Pixar films in one year. That will be the first time, although it could have been next year if Monsters University kept its original release date.

nice to see that Pixar after 16 years thinks that they can realese two movies in 1 year like......................Dreamworks.

-sequels
-making a movie only for toys
-2 movies in 1 years

a bright future for Pixar.

Pixar has (so far - haven't seen Cars 2, and don't really car to, tbh) a tight grasp on what is worthy of making a sequel - look at the Toy Story flicks. As far as 2 movies in 1 year, I think that can be chalked up to the fact that its becoming a HUUUUUGE company, and their budget, resources and personal allow for it.

Toy story didnt need a new sequel. jsut because the movie was good that doesnt mean that a sequel had to be made.

Most movie DON'T need a sequel. But the desire to make a sequel if the story is good is not a bad thing. At all. If you don't like the idea of a sequel, don't spend the money to see it. Simple as that.

Maybe this means they wont make Monster's Inc 2.

Considering that Pixar has made or is making movies about things like:

toys
bugs
cars
superheroes
fish
outdoor adventurers
robots
monsters
rats
newts
princess warriors

It shows they are primarily appealing for subjects that are gross, creepy, or annoying to girls and cool to boys. That could be reversed like with Brave. So expect it to be something about zombies, dinosaurs, ghosts, aliens, snakes, unicorns, turkeys, or something else both genders can laugh at. Seeing how its a now adays environmental towards animals and its a November release, a project about a turkey trying to escape becoming dinner will probably be it.

I would disagree with this sentiment. I've seen just as many female views enjoy these movies just as much as the male viewers, regardless of age.
