Iron Man 3 "Please Don't Turn Down my Music": The Iron Man 3 Composer Thread

Same. It was great. Brian Tyler delivered the goods.

I enjoyed this score the most in the series, easily. Just great work at balancing atmosphere and intensity.

Loved Tyler's score. I liked the more 007/Incredibles vibe to the "Can You Dig It" track used for the end credits sequence. But the rest of his score was incredibly varied... gave it that Iron Man feel without overusing the electric guitar.

The main theme is very catchy. I would like to hear Tyler do more MCU movies if Marvel wants him, he can easily balance what the studios want and still maintain his distinctive voice throughout.

I saw IM3 a few hours ago and thought it was pretty good. Eventhough it felt more like a Shane Black movie than an IM movie, imo. I thought Tyler's score was decent. It's definitely better than the previous two scores (from what I remembered from those), but that's not saying much, imo. I thought the main theme was a typical superhero theme. It wasnt bad or terrible. In fact it was kind of catchy but it felt like a generic superhero theme, imo. And I guess Tyler's theme fit IM more than the previous two themes but it wasn't anything special. It even reminds me of Arnold's Bond theme/motif in Casino Royale. Idk I might pick it up, b/c I didn't feel the score was terrible or anything. But it just didn't leave much of an impresson on me.

I thought it was pretty generic and over-dramatic at times (the house-destruction scene especially)

The more I listen to the score, the more I really like it.

Some of my favorite tracks: Iron Man 3, Attack on 10880 Malibu Point, Dive Bombers, New Beginnings, Stark, Heat and Iron, Culmination and Battle Finale.

Has anyone OCD enough like me tried to figure out the correct order sequence of the Iron Man 3 score? I can tell you which ones I know for sure are, which is, Extremis & War Machine. So far what I've got is :

Iron Man 3 (Unused)
War Machine (about the first 4 minutes)
Another Lesson from The Mandarin
Attack on 10880 Malibu Point
Isolation
The Mechanic
Leverage
Dive Bombers
Culmination
Battle Finale
Stark
Heat & Iron
Hot Pepper
Dr. Wu
New Beginnings
Can You Dig It (Iron Man 3 Main Titles)

The more I listen to the main theme, the more it becomes my favorite theme out of all the Marvel Cinematic Universe films. (Yes, even perhaps trumping the themes from Captain America and Avengers.)

There are people on another thread saying IM3 had no identifiable theme 0.o as if their ears were clogged the whole movie!

Bryan's revamp theme in Iron Man 3 is still the same as the original one from the first film except the tone is less heavy metal rock and more of a cinematic theme with a choir.

I hear the same cues note in both just a different style.

I am curious about the track titled "Stark" , what is happening at that point in the movie?

It's a portion of the final fight, and ends were Rhodey saves the president.

IM3's music was head & shoulders above IM2, but still not better than IM1, IMO.

I did my best avoiding the score before watching it and I enjoyed it a lot.

For OCD freakis that need the score in film order, here it is...I think.

Extremis (Aldrich on the Roof, aftermath, flash forward) - 0:33- 2:59
Extremis (Aldrich shows Pepper Extremis) - 2:59-end
The Mandarin
War Machine 0:00- 3:31
Attack on 10880 Malibu Point
Isolation
Return
Another Lesson from The Mandarin
War Machine 3:31-end
The Mechanic
Misfire
Leverage
Dive Bombers
Culmination
Battle Finale
Stark
Heat and Iron
Hot Pepper (Partially unused)
Dr. Wu (Unused in the NA cut, but used in the Chinese cut)
New Beginnings
Can You Dig It?
Iron Man 3 (Main Theme)

A positive review of Tyler's IM3 score.

Yesterday I decided to pick up the album and give it a chance. I didn't think the score was anything special in the film and was hoping to find something outside of it. It's the first Brian Tyler score (and IM score for that matter) that I own. Hopefully I'll enjoy it whenever I find the time to listen to it.

I was kinda disappointed that they couldn't stick some sort of AC/DC song in there somewhere.

Loved it. My favorite score of the trilogy.

Has anyone posted this yet?

Really cool covers. Loved that track, this score was definitely the best of the series.

I actually think this is the best Iron Man Movie score yet, I liked it instantly were as the one from the 1st movie had to grow on me eventually. If we get IM4, I hope Tyler returns.

The more I hear it the more I love it! I hope in Avengers 2 they incorporate the Iron Man 3 theme into his entrance...even just a few bars
