Plot holes/poor storytelling discussion

Unless Wolverine had sPider-Man's feet, Adamantium or not, an optic blast should have knocked him clear off that reactor.

The really bothersome thing about the optic-blast issue is that it's bad enough to make major changes to a certain character's defining features, but it's really annoying when those changes are an already common misconception that piss fans off. It's like if they made a Rogue movie called X-MEN ORIGINS: ROUGE (reread that) because "most people already think that Rogue is sPelled 'Rouge' anyway." You're essentially shoving an irresPonsible pet peeve down people's throats.

OMG i cant even reply im too busy LMFAO to this conversation... but gimme a few i will have a few tid bits of my own to add ;)

I still don't understand the fuss. Scott's beams are still concussive in this movie, it's just that they leave glowing scorch marks too. Seriously, that is nit picking on a whole new level.

And plus you have to figure in that he didn't have his visor. So surely when the beams come out of his eyes they are in a more raw form?

you know if they had just kept in line and not made such changes whether we think they were big, small, important or not we wouldn't be here discussing this.. they really just screwed up this story with nonsense story telling ... the changes made did need changing.. period.

Well see, I don't think anything worth any time talking about was changed with Scott. So I don't even know why I'm discussing it. Arguing over his optic blasts leaving scorch marks in one scene is just...ahh whatever, I don't wanna get banned again.

But of course. We hated the damn movie, so we're going to nitpick it apart viciously. Wait till we start finding out speling errors on the credits.

:hehe: That's actually funny.

But see, If I really hate something then I don't talk about it, I pretend it didn't exist. I don't go on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on about stupid, tiny little details. But hey, that's just me. You don't see me in the Dragonball forums spitting hate about that film. You don't seem me in the FF forums spitting hate about that film.

I don't care enough about FF or DB to hang out in those forums:(

These forums would be boring if all we did was praise a movie. Everyone has complaints so it's natural. I have talked about the good things but it is more fun to talk about the bad things:D

Yea fair points, and I suppose this is the thread to talk about problems. But I honestly believe the scorch marks from the optic blasts are...just...nothing. Not even worth arguing about really. It hasn't completely changed his powers, they still look like concussive blasts to me. You don't seem them melt through the school roof, they literally BLAST through the school roof.

I remember in the animated series, in an episode Rogue absorbs Scott's powers, and when she shoots optic blasts on his own hands, there is a little smoke, like burning...

Did anyone said something back then? :p

You tell me that I am wrong and you have what proof? Oh wait, your opinion. If you also don't care, why take the time to respond to our posts in here?

So in summary, Ol'Canucklehead makes a claim and doesn't have the proof. You are a great debater. I also love how you say "oh, it's a joke when you are shown to be wrong." That is funny...lol:dry:

So the gist I get from his post, he's just trolling. He's bored and just loves senseless arguing because it amuses him.

With regards to the conversation above, I agree it also irked me when Cyclops powers left scorch marks, that is something they never did in the comics or in the previous movies, if that was his power, then there would have been scorch marks on the train station roof, but there wasnt, honestly, film-makers just dont take notice sometimes.

Yeah, but plot-wise, is not a problem... is not like he used them to light a cigarrete or something... It was just marks, for artistic purposes, like the noise of explosions in space... Is there to enjoy visually, but nothing else.

We have already established that you have incredibly low standards for this movie. Basically you will accept anything about this movie. Making excuses from day one for every little thing. Whenever people complain you have repeatedly called them nitpickers, crazy, insane, "giving regular comic book geeks" a bad name.

People have problems with the movie period. I don't like the scorchmarks either but it's just one symptom of the bigger problem, namely that the producers and writer generally don't give a sugar frosted f**k about delivering a GOOD product. And you accepting everything and making excuses for everything is the type of behaviour they LIKE and hope for.

You the most predictable person on these boards, I could probably get you to argue about anything if I really wanted to :)

I've already told you I don't care, the thread is a joke to me and so are you, yet you persist....amazing :)

I'm not trying to debate you, I don't really care what your opinions are I just let you fling your poo for my own amusement, I do the same thing with my fan boy extremist friends. Toss into a line of conversation Captain Kirk has homosexual tendencies while at a Sci-Fi convention and watch the spark fly between the idiots that think they know every detail of the universe enough to debate and ***** on both sides for nothing more than trying to be right about something.

And to LadyVader

That was a very hypocritical response, suddenly he has low standards because he defended the movie but your are higher because you tear it apart? Who are you to judge what is high or low? What gives you the right to say that these are "problems" while others may find them improvements?

This is the kind of thing that I'm talking about, people in this thread are so sure that they are right that it goes past interjecting opinion to telling anyone with a different opinion that they "have incredibly low standards". This thread, and most of the conversations in it are just laughable.

Why is it that I would be the troll instead of everyone who spends time demeaning the thoughts of others and telling them that their opinions mean that they "have incredibly low standards" or spend time insulting the intelligence of those who disagree with their narrow minded bashing of a film that they have enjoyed?

This entire thread is based on negative connotation, it is a trolls paradise, people get to come here and play troll in a "legal" way. Think about it, what do you do here???? Spend time talking about how the film sucks, spend time insulting those on the other side of the argument, degrading the intelligence of fellow posters in an effort to prove them wrong, and generally spend all day bashing and TROLLING. So I guess that it makes perfect sense that when in Bizzaro world the natural response would be to consider those who aren't doing that trolls. Did I hit the nail on the head hard enough?

Not if the metal could absorb the kinetic energy.

Yet you persist by continuing to come back and resond to posts in a thread that is a joke on a subject that you don't care about...NICE:up: You stated that Cyclops has heat laser beams, that they have changed Cyclops' power three times in the movies, and that they have changed it five times in the comics. You presented no proof while everyone else showed proof as to why you are wrong. That is it, there is no need to keep coming in here to argue, that point is moot now and it is done with.

Once again, it's about Ace's atitude towards this particular movie, an atitude which I have disliked for quite some time. He has been accusing people of having an agenda against the movie which is influencing their opinion of it. He has an agenda FOR the movie, so his opinion is no more justified than theirs. He has accused people of being crazy and insane for caring about Wolverine's claws (or some such thing), and giving comic book geeks a bad name for caring about those details.

These are the things I have a problem with. I have nothing against Ace, just his atitude to this particular movie and the way he goes about expressing it. If he would be just a supporter of the movie, I'd be ok... but he has been making personal attacks against posters for caring about some small details and that just ticks me off!

I honestly don't give a **** about Wolverine: Origins either way, nor does it influence my opinion of other people (see how I mentioned Ace's "atitude"). I do believe it could've been a better movie than it is and could've been made better with some modest modifications. I also believe people are entitled to like it because the actors are likeable and charming, but as far as technical qualities go, it's sorely lacking. Editing mistakes, bad pacing because of them and poorly made special effects.

But that being said, I just don't like Ace's atitude.

Ok, well I guess I can get that, its just the way you wrote that last bit made me picture you in an entirely different light, you can see how it was easy for me to rope you in with the masses of this thread.

Just as your not a mindless troll who will bash and part of the film or any poster who liked it than your ok by me no matter what your opinion :)

So who is bashing you because you liked this movie?
