Poison Ivy Casting Thread

Think the apt performance is Jennifer's Body

There's more to these characters than just "sex".

And therefore, Fox isn't the appropriate actress to effectively portray a character who is an expert in toxicology and genetics. She looks good (not as much as back in the day), but plays everything a tad too dumb. You want someone who not only looks good, but can provide credibility and believability to a role like that.

I actually don't agree she plays roles "dumb" in New Girl she plays the most intelligent of the group (which admittedly isn't that hard), however, I do think she's actually a very underrated actor. I think that sexuality is also a key component of Pamela's character and I don't think it should be diluted or subdued and should be more natural form of how she communicates her body language. For that I think Megan is perfect!

Gotta disagree as the roles you've mentioned (New Girl and Jennifer's Body) seem to have been written to accommodate her.

She doesn't have red hair, so cannot therefore be considered.

Eh... Many roles are made with Will Smith and Tom Cruise in mind does that mean they don't give good performances in their roles?

Sure but they're also, y'know, ocassionally interesting personalities.

If there are two actresses that I'd be interested in seeing get the role it would be

Emily Beecham who plays Widow in Into The Badlands:

Elena Satine whom had played Mera in Smallville:

She still failed to do anything really interesting with them, which just makes it sadder since they were supposed to accommodate her. Fox is tolerable in small doses, but she doesn't belong anywhere near virtually any comic book character.

Casting people like Megan Fox would be sending us down a path for worst performances than what we got in BF & B&R. Now that's a scary thought.

Y'know what? F*** it. Get Fox as Ivy and bring in The Rock to play Freeze.

Some WWE wrestler as Bane.

Yeah because casting Batista was a terrible move for GoTG oh wait...

I notice that the colour of each of these actresses hair is red, and that the character whose casting we are discussing has red hair, therefore your choices are acceptable.

Was just about to approve for this very reason, myself.

Why does it matter if the actresses hair is naturally red or not? They'll use a wig for her, whether her hair is red or not.

Troll!

The most important factor in casting for this role is natural red hair colour. How could I be expected to watch an actress playing a fantastic demi-goddess who communes telepathically with plants, while knowing her hair is dyed? :funny:

You're calling me a troll? I'm just saying that almost every actress in a superhero film is wearing a wig. Margot Robbie wore a wig for most of Suicide Squad. Red hair isn't necessary, actresses people assume are natural red heads usually aren't. And if they are a natural red head, it's been colored to be more intense. Anyways, shouldn't it come down to acting skills?

Seriously... a wig? Some of you people really have low standards.

It'll probably happen. Better expect it and be surprised if she doesn't. The amount of damage that can happen during a production on the actresses hair can be a lot. Also if they use wigs, they can style the hair without having the actress on set and wasting money having them just sit in a chair for a couple hours.

Pixen, mate, this entire exchange is flying over your head. Check regwec's and mine posts on previous two pages and it will shed some light on the matter.

What is this "wig" that keeps coming up? It sounds like an intergalactic task force bent on world domination. :o
