So, I think we can all agree that "The Spectacular Spider-Man" re-imagined the villains new, yet familiar and iconic ways. Which re-imagining was your all time favorite?

Never mind who your favorite villain in the comic is, who is your favorite villain in the show?

Venom. Really close to Rhino, though.

GOD, this is hard. Gotta be the Goblin, but Venom and Sandman come very close.

In the show? Either Sandman or Rhino.

Kraven, but mostly due to me being a fan of his from the comics. I liked his initial appearance in the series a great deal, but I'm still sort of iffy about the cue they took from the Ultimate line with the whole were-lion angle. Love his tenacity, though, and think they came through perfectly on capturing that for the show.

Kraven was the one I hated the most. They made him look like a reject froms "Cats" or a Disney cartoon or something. I thought they ruined him.

He looks like a joke.

Like I said, I would have rather they left that take out of it completely, but I suppose they figured a mutated cat figure would sell to the kids better than just some guy in a lion-print vest. The design is a turn-off, but the character still comes through well enough for me.

Why this "other" option? These are all the villains from show.

The Lizard is my favorite villain and I had an absolute blast watching Natural Selection. However, I believe the best villain in the series is a tie between Doc Ock and Norman Osborn/Green Goblin.

I thought they made Doc Ock sound like a weiner. He has this real high pitched whinny voice. It's annoying.

I think I'll go with Rhino. I love every aspect of that character in the show. He's one of the funniest villains in this show, if not the funniest. And I love his re-design, with the huge torso and powerful arms, but slim waist and legs; it makes him look much cooler than he does in the comics, IMO. Plus, his voice is superb.

I also have soft spots for Shocker and Silver Sable. I think the changes they made with them from the source materials are for the better (Shocker being Montana from the Enforcers and Sable being a mobster rather than a mercenary) and made them more interesting and fresh.

But as a whole I think that SSM has an excellent rogue gallery. There is no single villain that I dislike, though there are some that I have minor gripes with. Like Venom, who in my opinion became evil too quickly back in Season 1 or Kraven, whose whole feline-mutate look I despise (not because it's unfaithful to the comics - it is faithful to the Ultimate universe - but it just looks bad).

Though I think I've said it before concerning the villains - I'm still waiting for Season 3 and the Hobgoblin to say my final opinion, becuse he's my favorite from the comics.

I'm going to have to go with Rhino as well. The show has made me appreciate him in a whole new light than I did before. And I do love this version of Shocker as well.

Same here. I love the original Hobgoblin and cant wait to see what Greg will do with him.

Yep. From what we saw from Kingsley in Season 2, I have hopes. He was cunning, smart and - apparently - quite determined to reach his goals without sweating over minor stuff (like spending millions of dollars :P). I like that. True, Norman outwitted him (and everyone else involved) at the end, but from the little I saw, I think he has a potential to be a great villain if handled right.

Yea i think greg and comp has done some great things with the villains so far. I cant wait to see what they have in store with others. Sure a few i have had some minor things i dont like or wished changed but they are just minor things, and for the overall context of the show it works.

Well The Lizard is my favorite villain from the comics, but in this show it is definitely The Green Goblin! Reminds me of The Joker from Batman:The Animated Series.

hmm i am surprised ock isnt a fav of yours since your screen name is doc ock.
