Bane
Damn, that's pretty crazy.
you cna get banned for thisyeah its definitely a spoiler title... but are we clear now that in the footage shown it DIDN'T show who was smashing it.. I'm getting tired of people saying it was the Joker and they saw him smash it or heard he did... I assume their mind is just piecing together the logical person who would have smashed it based on the other footage - and not actually paying attention to WHAT their eyes actually saw.
Look everyone. It has been heavily rumored that (due to the bat imposter) Batman's relationship with the police is going to come under a heavy strain.
Gordon trusted batman, maybe he feels his trust has been betrayed. It would be something we hadn't seen on screen before (as they have always been chums) it would be resolved by the end of the film, and certainly the shock of seeing him doing something like that would have quite the dramatic effect............
Well.. He gets a bit cocky (you know... emo-style) and half-way during the movie he get some black symbiot goozed over him and transforms himself into a wannabe Batman ("fake Batman" in the storyline, since the symbiot can transform itself into anything, even Batman clothing). There you have your fourth villain..... Joker, Two-Face, the mob, Jim/Fake Batman..i don't know if i am being dumb here....but why would jim gordon smash the bat signal?
The Joker is shown in the WW footage smashing it with an axe.
Random teenage hooligans get up on a nearby roof and shoot it with a BB gun out of boredom.
After all, this would have been happening regularly in reality, and, as Nolan has been repeating ad infinitum, he is going for "realism".
