Remember Caitlin from Volume 2? Peter took her to the future, and just left her?
Caitlin's fate was originally intended to be revealed in the cancelled volume "Exodus", but due to the writers' strike, it may never be known.

So she's stuck in the future where the virus broke out. Honestly, that just sucks. This thread might be useless, but I just wanted to express my anger. Peter's an idiot. I can't believe he doesn't even mention her in Season 3. He was basically in love with her, and brings her to the future, and just forgets? AHHHH.

:[

HAHAHAHAHA!!!! She can stay there! I hope she is miserable and contaminated with the virus and had to shave her head bald like Natalie Portman in V for Vendetta....then she'll be bitter and die! HAHA!

In all seriousness she sucked.

I didn't care for her either but damn, that's an awful fate.

Kinda sad that they had to dump her, but plotwise, we're better off.

Now to give this same treatment to:

Sylar
Niki/Jessica/Gina/Tracy/Barbra or whatever she is going by now
Peter
Hiro (as comic relief instead of a character)
Micah
Monica
That fat cousin of Micah's that wanted to play with DL's medal
Maya
Mohinder

I agree with you on Jessica, Hiro, and Micahs fat cousin as well as Micah, but everyone else I'm good with.

Love 'em and Leave 'em....in the apocalyptic future! :D

I think Peter had other things on his mind. You know things like his brother getting shot, being trapped in a supervillain's body, escaping with some other villains and trying to stop them from killing a bunch of people.

ya know Ive been thinking about this and dont ya think since the virus wasnt released that that particular future might just be gone? I dunno but it is kinda wierd but i dont really care

I thought it was kind of obvious why he doesn't care? Because he basically was only in 'love' with her because he didn't remember his old life at all.

The Petrelli brothers women have about as much luck as as the Summers brothers women. They either end up crippled, dead, stuck in a horrible alternate future, ect

Wasn't it to be understood that if he changed the future and stopped the virus, the future she was in would change? But then again, it doesn't matter much. It seems like no matter what they do the world is always going to end up as some kind of post-apocolyptic wasteland.

I would presume her past self died from the original virus.

I hope she comes back as a big player in future writings. It would make alot of sense to reutilise her in the future.

I would say make her a badass HRG type female figure, the show is running out of decent non-powered dudes, heck make her a non powered baddie. A william stryker of people with abilities.

here's the way I see it, and a possible solution:
-she gets stuck in the future when Peter suddenly gets pulled back to the present, which is now the past for her.
-Peter prevents the virus from spreading, thus the future where Caitlin is, changes, and here's where they could make it interesting: she becomes aware of the shift in reality, it could be explained because she's not from that time.
-now, Future Peter goes back in time, messes things a whole lot more, and the future changes again, and she's still stuck there, and again, becomes aware of the further changes made.
-by now, you have an non-powered individual whose perception of reality differs greatly from the rest of the "normal" people, which if written correctly, would make for a very interesting character.
-the show could then, forget about her for a while so that further rifts in time would keep affecting her, making her crazy or somehow developing abilities through adaptation or some similar gimmick, so that when a storyline that could tap into those themes arrives, it could be written around her. just imagine a disgruntled, time displaced ex with enhanced awareness?

Neil Gaiman did something like that in Sandman, and it gave way to the Seasons Of Mist storyline

Actually really like this idea. It is a very creative way of correcting a plot hole brought on by the writer's strike and really lends itself to an interesting story arch (potential new big bad out of a minor character).

Good Job!

I actually like the way the writers are approaching characterization through very subtle details, some taken from different, small things throughout the series and all of a sudden throw you bit parts that develop into great scenes

one such example was Micah's part in this last episode, while some people might feel those storylines boring, they are just establishing you a very potential future character, which taking this season's theme, might also provide for very interesting character development
or some **** like that

I was thinking basically the same thing PLAS when it comes to Caitlin. Have her basically get molded into reality every time the future is changed and they can somehow have her come back crazy or as a villan or somethin. But I hope they just dont plain forget her.

I don't think she exists anymore...that future has changed.

she's stuck where ever people in alternate futures that are no longer going to exist end up

it'd be neat if future Caitlin ended up using the serum to gain powers, tricks Future Peter into taking her back into the past and unleashes some horrible pent up fury on the world...but we'll probably never know

no less that what the crap character deserved

Peter is like, the worst boyfriend ever.

But if that future is gone, did she cease to exist too?

what is she comes back in later episodes turned into a villain who wants revenge from Peter ;)

For all the griping about the show, it really does remind me of what all mainstream comics become at one time or another. In that sense, Heroes is just like it's source inspiration huh?
All the confusing time travel and the writers write themselves into a hole. I kinda hope Caitlin did not cease to exist, but the fact that she was ignored is just baaaad writing. Maybe the actress couldn't come back for some reason?

I was thinking that it would be better to have timelines like in DragonBall, whatever happens is done and cannot be changed. Going back into the past does not change anything in the time you came from but the butterfly effect instead creates a new timeline-an alternate dimension. That way, when Claire kills Peter or "present" Peter kills his own brother, they really did do it and cannot be undone, although they did it in an alternate reality. Otherwise, the show can just do what it pleases without serious repercussions because everything can just be undone with some "simple" time travel. Personally I find it cooler that they cannot change the past at all for their own timeline but they can avoid a possible future that is indeed a reality somewhere. Caitilin could still be rescued instead of ceasing to exist.

Caitlin was forgotten and the writers may be to embarrassed to bring her up . It would be funny to see her come back as a villian but I doubt we will see that .
