I had the oddest encounter this morning. Some guy came up to me on the streets and said:

Guy: Do you like my watch?
Me: Yea...it's cool.
Guy: Do you wanna buy it? $20.
Me: No...that's okay.
Guy: How about my t-shirt? Do you like it? $5
Me: Seriously, dude, I'm not buying anything.
Guy: Oh, come on! What about my shoes? I bought it for $60. You can have it for $30.

Then, I slowly walk away. Surprisingly the guy didn't follow me. He started bugging someone else. Still...I feel bad for the guy. Things are rough in this economy.

Things may be rough; but I would not sell my Storm watch, Ralph Lauren Polo, or my New Balances.

Being a *****ebag comes with a price.

Aw, sad to hear :csad: I wonder if he really needed the money, or if he was an alcoholic or druggie.

It's because all you hear on the news is people *coughobamacough* falsely saying this is the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression.

Nah, if he were that desperate, he wouldve offered to go down on you first.

The populace heard him say "change," and thought I do need some.

If it's worn by a stranger I've never seen/met I will never buy it. Clothes from thrift stores are gross, too.

Yeah, **** it's not like people are losing their jobs and homes at a dramatic pace or anything.

I looooove thrift stores

it feels nice to go to a party and not bumping into anyone with the same garment

Where did I say that our country's economy is absolutely perfect? My point is when you hear the president say this is the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, of course people are going to be freaked out over money. The comparison to the Great Depression is incredibly inaccurate. That's not saying the situation now is great.

Just give it time.

My watch, shirt and shoes were nice... you missed a great opportunity.

Should've talked him down to get a better price.

Is it wrong to go to the thrist stores after they close and rummage through the boxes left on the sidewalk for stuff and taking what you want? Sometimes there's really cool stuff. And if you get it before it gets inside the store and priced, it's like free.

No. It's practical and cost-effective.
