I wouldn't really put a lot of stock into what EVS says. He's a Right Wing loon.

No doubt for both Disney/Marvel and AT&T/WB/DC the actual publishing of physical comics is a loss and the writings been on the wall for a long time that they need to do something to make publishing comics in physical form actually profitable.

That said... I am guessing that actually closing down DC Comics, or Marvel, and the ceasing of publishing comics is a longer way off than many think.

Even if they did, it would at best be a momentary thing to reorganize the company.

I wouldnt put it past AT&T. They are focusing on HBO Max. They told HBO they had to reduce production time, and crank out more series per year. They want 50 new series by 2021 and 50 million subscribers by 2025. That and in theaters is where the DC property will pay off. And if it doesnt they can sell DC to Disney.

Clothing, toys, video games, branded items like foodstuff, TV/Streaming, theatrical releases... I have a very hard time believing that AT&T would give up all that because the comic books aren't selling.

It would be stupid to kill off DC but this is AT&T, stupid decisions is their marketing strategy. They also bought Dish networks when cable television is declining. And as mentioned, they want quantity over quality so they are going to ruin HBO.

I love that neither of these *******s look at all like they are struggling or some ****.

Plus, maybe it's my NYC Subway paranoia speaking but I see a backpack just laying around in public with no one close by who is obviously the owner my first thought is "home made explosive device", not "there's probably some expenisve **** in there worth stealing, yo!"

Aside from the giddiness at a potential crossover animation between Superman and Hulk or any of their other properties, I don't want Disney to own DC Comics cause they already own too much.
