The Dark Knight Possible Spoilers from JoBlo (including THAT laugh)

During the Joker's first appearance, he actually beats Batman in a fist fight, so it might be possible depending on what incarnation they use.

I don't mind a sturdy Joker but the skill they emphasized in Begins above all else was his fighting ability. There must be another reason why Joker gets the upper hand.

The thing is though in Batman #1 they didn't go into length about Batman/Bruce's extensive martial arts background. Really the only way the Joker could beat him would be a similar background (improbable) or some sort of environmental advantage he woudl use.

Or a gun...

But anyways I'll just be happy if we see Joker in action in the trailer, and hear the famous laugh...if that meets up to what everyone wants, holy ****.

Well yeah, but that was assuming we are talking hand to hand.

if they go hand to hand, i say the joker should have a crowbar hiding in his sleve

I know, but I was referencing the posted tidbit from JoBlo as I thought what was being asked was about was the scene described.

I'll believe it when I see it. I hope the highlights part is bull****. That would completely suck if his hair wasn't completely green. I disagree with what someone said earlier about completely green hair looking campy. If the hair is dark green, than there is no way it would look campy, especially if every ten seconds he's got blood in it. I also hope that if he does grow more grotesque in time, it's natural, and not b/c he painted himself up scarier this go around. He can mutilate himself and all, but the make up thing would really suck.

I don't think the Joker should have to happen in stages to appease everyone. I think his actions should show his decent into madness. There is little evidence to the contrary, so I'm hoping Nolan just lets Joker be Joker, and the only change to his look (besides wardrobe changes) should be if there is indeed a fear gas sequence.

I hope the highlights part is bull****.
Jett says that's a 100% accurate. It's heavy highlights, but sort of mixed brown/green.

And this is interesting: http://redeye.chicagotribune.com/ne...econtact,0,3378217.column?coll=red-columnists

SPOILER ALERT: In the scene, Wayne throws a fabulous soiree Saturday night with Gotham's most distinguished guests. The champagne is flowing, and everyone seemed to be having a great time—that is, until the Joker busts in. That fool! The Joker whisks away Gyllenhaal as she is kissing Wayne, according to a set source. Meanwhile, Michael Caine, who plays Wayne's butler, Alfred, struts around the bash in a gray suit and with the most appropriate prop: a cane.

In another scene, Batman and the Joker simulate a fall from the top of a high-rise against a green screen, a set source said.

^ Not good enough of a reason! I 100% agree with sasquatchs's statement... There's gotta be a reason for the Joker having the upper hand... what ever it may be, they better make it good!!! Cause Batman SHOULD easily be able to knock out the Joker.

He fights dirty, is insane, and is unpredictable.

Batman hasn't really faced anybody like the Joker yet. So he might be a little unprepared.

i can not agree with that.
batman was trained about everything when it comes to fighting.

-fights dirty? bruce is trained to see that coming.
-upredictable? again he is trained to see that coming.

in BB when batman starts to fight you can see that he took time to look around to see everything. when he starts to fight he knows everythign and seessees everything.

in BB they made him like the ultimate fighter. sorry but this is how it is.
i dont want that they change this.

i think nolan will make it work.we dont know 100% whats going in there.

I'm sure he'll (Mr. J) will think of something.

Okay. Then tell me how he gets the upper-hand.

the movie comes out in 2008 right?
then we will know. if you would ass me in 2004 how the tumbler will work in the movie i wouldnt know. now i do.

fact is that batman was fighting 3 members of league of shadows. and they were trained like batman.

maybe batman is hurt or something falls on him. i dont know.

lets wait and see.

That arguement works for my side as well.

I can agree on the fact that he is to fight insane and BE insane, and by that BE unpredictable... But that should still not be a problem for Bats...

It's like fighting some exstremely DRUNK A-hole one night on the town. Alcohol, if enough drunk can make you insane (to some extend), but it surdently doesn't make you a better fighter than if you were sober... Actually, it's way easier to beat some exstremely drunk guy, who has no idea what he's doing with his arms, than had he been clear in his head!... I guess, in some weird way, it's the same with the Joker in the new movie.

But the difference between a drunk guy and...well, the Joker, is that it's just that. It's a drunk guy and the Joker.

For all his fancy technique and techy suits Batman still has to remain vulnerable. That's it, it's quite simple. there's a million different ways Joker could hurt Batman and we just need to believe it when it happens. A flukey blow with a crowbar, a collapsing ceiling, a hail of machine gun bullets knocking him over, use your bloody imagination.

EDIT: Dirty fighting and insanity do not make Joker a better fighter. What's he gonna do, squawk like a chicken and kick him in the nuts? The Joker is untrained but his whole being is SAVAGE and wily. He'll find a way.

That's what I was trying to get at before. Batman can't be Bat-God. Otherwise, there's no story.
