Now that Spidey is in the MCU, what are some potential setups the show they can given the opportunity?
We know they like to set up and expand on events from upcoming films, having done that with Winter Soldier and the Inhumans. They'll presumably do the same with Age of Ultron.
Assuming there's no easter egg or cameo till Phase Three, post-Ultron would be about the time Peter debuts. This would make Season 3 the first introduction into Phase Three, and they have about a year from then till Spidey's potential debut in Civil War. What are some fun things they could do in the meantime?
Some ideas:
1. Coulson's team investigating a potential connection between Oscorp and HYDRA (which eventually turns out false). Coulson could bring up SHIELD has investigated Norman in the past, but found no evidence to anything.
2. Daily Bugle articles in the background updating the viewers on the mysterious "masked menace", similar to how they kept teasing the particle accelerator in Arrow.
3. If time and money aren't an issue, potentially have the new actor guest star for one episode. I assume they'll cast someone who's not exactly A-list, possibly only having done a few films, so they can probably afford him for an episode. He doesn't have to be in costume or show off his powers, but I think he would have great chemistry with FitzSimmons and Skye (the former for the intellect, the latter for the sense of humor).
4. Regarding the statement above, possibly draw parallels between Blizzard and Peter's worldviews, both being socially excluded teens with genius intellect that took polar opposite paths after getting their powers.
