Don't let the childish nature of the show fool you. Behind the veil the dark part is

It's revealed the rangers died

ToQger seems like a very lively, up-spirited show...just don't see it flying in PR unless you come up with a very, very well-thought-out-original story.

I'd have it take place on another planet where trains are really apart of everyday life or something along those lines just so it won't seem so out of the blue with the train theme and everything...

I watched the raw, unsubbed version of the show yesterday, and it was pretty good.

Very light amd comedic tone, but with some very dark elements.

If you know the twist ending, you know what I mean by dark.

were those really new Ranger costumes? Maybe a foreshadowing of a future series?

What? No

It was the previously unused Dairanger costumes from 1993

Saban kept the Zyuranger costumes for 3 years because he didn't want to confuse kids when MMPR was insanely popular.

MMPR-Zyuranger

MMPR season 2- Zyuranger costumes but used the dairanger mecha and the white ranger

MMPR season 3- Saban used Kakuranger mecha and the Kakuranger's became the "Alien Rangers"

Season 4 was when Saban did the full transfer and adapted Ohranger as Zeo

Now in Super Megaforce all the series that were never adapted will be given an excuse as "rangers not from this earth or previously known"

So this gives them an excuse to use the Pre-Zyuranger costumes that Gokaiger used

see? I didn't know that, and other fans I'm sure don't either. Thank you for enlightening me.

I hate when its noticeable that you're watching the japanese footage. Just looks, odd, old? Is it just me?

I did. I've always been quite pissed they didn't just use the Dairanger suits for the evil rangers in 'Green no more' of MMPR. No, in stead they gave us this:

The Dairanger suits would've been perfect for an evil team of rangers, even if it were just for a couple of episodes.

They sat on the dairanger suits for 21 years and the best explanation is "Powers not seen on earth"

Wow.

For the next 20 episodes I don't expect any detailed explanation of ANYTHING.

They didn't really explain

-the legend powers
-the new zords
-a weak attempt at explaining for Dairanger footage
-glossed over the change from green to black.

yeah that last one was weak, "There is a perfectly logical explanation for that...." *explosion* "Gotta go!"

The "powers not seen on earth"/alien powers is the simplest explanation.

We already know from MMAR, Space, and Lost Galaxy, that the ranger tradition didn't begin on earth and isn't limited to earth. Hell, it's not even limited to this dimension, as seen by Mystic Force and RPM.

So really, there is no reason to come up with a more complex explanation than that. Especially when the are simply appearing as a glorified power up.

If they were going in depth and giving an arc to those powers, then ok. But they aren't.

So yeah, alien powers is a fine explanation.

hmm.....I hadn't thought about it like that. Very nice SpideyFan, very nice. And very true!

I just got done watching "Earth Fights Back" and let me tell you, I'm excited for Super Megaforce. The Legendary Mode is exciting, how they use it is fun. I'm also glad they used this episode to show they're still rebuilding from the first wave of the Armada attack. PR always seems to gloss over the destruction with only a few exceptions.

My only complaint is the new "main villain" Vrak's brother. What a wuss, and an idiot. Say what you will about Megaforce, but the three main bads were all tough as nails.

All that aside, I can't wait to see where Super Megaforce goes from here. And to me that's a....Super Mega Win!!!!.....yep, I just said that. I'm leaving now....

I really like how with the Legendary modes, the writers take the time to research and add in the relevant names of weapons of the old rangers as seen with the RPM and SPD modes. Keep up the good work! Hopefully that means they'll pay good homage to the even older seasons which would get some sort of nod later.

Wow that dialogue was beyond awful. If I took a shot everytime they said new powers I would be drunk right now.

Just makes me sadder that we cant get sentai-less seasons. Those costumes wouldve made a great season

They need to bring back a villain arc like the psycho rangers. Or something original like a villains tie to a ranger like Astronema. I'd say the last good villain was from Time Force although i did enjoy RPM and admired their effort w/ Tenaya 7 as an homage to In Space. Thrax from Overdrive had lots of potential given it was original as was the son of Lord Zedd but unfortunately fell flat imo. Just please quit using these super generic villains that are clearly boxy halloweenish type costumes straight from Japan.

Agreed, bringing back the Psycho Rangers would've been a good anniversary thing.

They don't even do original villains anymore, guess Saban decided that they need to save as much money as they can after they bought the series back from Disney. To think that we used to get about 3-5 episodes a season with very little Sentai footage if not none at all

Exactly, and since they've brought back Power Rangers its actually gotten better season after season since Samurai. I'm hoping sooner rather than later they start to be a little more creative and a little less cheap.

Well when they do call me. Until then I only plan on tuning in for the legend war or whatever and tuning back out. SPD was the last full season I watched and enjoyed which is sad since I grew up watching the series since the first day it came on all those years ago.
