Predators 2

It was a bit disappointing that you had 3 Super Preds, that couldn't wipe the floor with a group of people, that never worked together before. In the first Movie, you already had a single Predator, take down teams of trained soldiers, with nothing more than wrist blades and a Plasma Caster. So they kinda came across like amateurs.

I would like to see a Predator movie take place in the future.

Perhaps in a futuristic city, or an off world prison colony where hardened convicts have to band together to survive.

My idea was an Earth overrun by Aliens where predators come to train their young as a rite of passage.

Smaller, faster and more agile pre-teen predators (like ninjas) who hunt aliens to prove themselves to predator society. They also hunt the human mercenaries paid to clear out alien colonies for human settlements.

In the mean time an elite class of humans in a giant walled off city gamble on the outcome of these encounters.

I'd like to see a sequel to Predators. It was a film with many shortcomings, most of all excessive homages to the original, but they took an interesting direction, which I'd like to see fully explored in a sequel. I'd love to see them take on the story from where they left.

I still want to see Predators hunting Samurais in Japan and being called Oni.

Problem is there's really nowhere left to take the story. Even if you try to do something cool like adding other alien species for the Preds to hunt and the humans to fight. Or maybe include some sentient humanoid aliens who team up with the survivors of the last film and the new humans introduced in the new film. A straight up sequel to Predators is going to have the same narative problems as the previous film. Namely the surviving humans are still going to be stuck on the Game Reserve Planet. I suppose they might be able to find the Preds' spaceship, but who would be able to fly it? I had a thought that while trying to figure out the controls, one of the survivors accidentally activates the automatic pilot, which is programmed to return the ship to the Pred Homeworld. Then the survivors go from having just defeated 3 Preds to landing on a planet with 3 billion Preds. Out of the frying pan and into the fire ("Oh s**t!"). Then any other sequels would have to be with a whole new group of prey.

Perhaps the Preds could end up sending one of their own to the Game Reserve Planet to be hunted in the sequel. He's the runt of the litter, and thus not deemed worthy of being a Hunter. So he's trained to be elusive prey, and is released on their Game Reserve Planet. He ends up teaming up with the human survivors from the last movie, as well as whatever newbies they round up, and agrees to pilot the Preds' ship and take them home. That would be something kinda new.

But I still say the best way to go is to go into the past. Forget the Game Reserve thing and just do what was done in the first two films during different times in history.

Predator vs Samurai

Predator vs Ninja

Predator vs Spartan

Predator vs Viking

Predator vs Knight

Predator vs Pirate

Predator vs Neanderthal

Predator vs Zulu Warrior

Predator vs Apache

The possibilities are virtually endless.

Hmm I'd rather it continue off a similar fashion to the original.

Out in the wilderness a lone Predator hunts an elite group of Girl Scouts. Where the Girl Scouts have to use their skills learned at camp to kill the Predator. It would be like Home Alone meets Predator as I see it. Will Troop 347 be the hunter...or the hunted?

LOL All joking aside, I hope we get a good Predator film soon. One thing we need is for someone to try to replicate what Stan did. Since Predator 2 magically the Predators have looked like they took steps backwards in make up/creature design. All of them look rubber, and some how Stan the man made the damn thing look real. Do that again.

I'm game for that but can we throw in some gunslingers who are trying to modernize Japan.

Depends on what time period you want to set it in. If it's set when the Emperor of Japan has cut the nation off from all forein contact, then it could be just samurai and/or ninja vs the Predator, and that would be just as good.

A "Predator in the Wild West" story could take place in the Apache Nation years before the white settlers ever came to North America, and the arrival of the Predator could create some ancient native monster tales (sasquatch, wendigo, etc). Or it could take place when the white settlers are spreading across the land and the Pred is hunting both the cowboys and the natives. The Apache braves blame the deaths on a legendary monster, while the white settlers are blaming "those savage injuns." Then when the truth is discovered, they have to unite in order to survive. If they ever do this story, I'd like to see the actor who played Billy in the first movie play one of the Apache in this one.

That's just it. A Predator movie set in the past would be done in the same fashion as the original. The Predator would simply be hunting the most elite human warriors of that time. Personally, I still like my Predator vs Viking idea, where the Pred's hunting vikings and a group of their best warriors heads out to slay the "monster", which leads to the creation of the legend of Beowulf & Grendel.

.

you start the movie with humans on the predator planet. then in the middle of the movie you go into flashback mode and explain what you wrotte. how they got into the spaceship to escape the game reserve planet.

That sounds awesome too.

In the middle of the movie? How long do you think two or three humans would last on the Predator Homeworld? That's why I'm not interested in any stories that takes place on their home planet, the whole thing will last about 60 seconds. In the original, a single Predator took out an entire elite commando unit in 24 hours. How long do you think any human would last when the numbers are about a billion to one? No, having humans accidentally landing on the Predator Homeworld might make for an interesting ending to a Predators sequel, but it's not where the bulk of the story should take place.

I made a similar point in the terminator thread but does the predator franchise really have relevance outside of Arnold?

When you hear predator how many people think Predator 2 or want to remember the terrible AVP movies or Predators?

I think some in the "fanboy" community over-rate how much the general audience really cares about the extended universes of franchises like Termintator and Predator? To myself there was only ever 1 predator movie...and the "predator" in that title didn't refer to the alien.

the humans are like ET and the predators are like the humans.

humans go home :woot:

if Arnold would be in a predator movie i would pay for 3 tickets. even if its a bad movie.

Both the ninja/samurai and cowboy/apache ideas seem like fun.

I bet Hollywood throws out another lazy yet cheap scenario. Maybe teenagers getting slayed in hospitals, lollolol!!!

I have an idea for a fan fiction story which I'm planning on writing, which is a crossover between Predator & Criminal minds. The basic premise could be used as the plot for a new Predator movie though.

A Predator comes to Earth and goes on a hunt. However, this hunt is unsanctioned by the elders on the Predator Homeworld. This predator is a poacher, who has no regard for his peoples' Hunters' Code, and is more interested in the quantity of trophies rather than the quality. He slaughters entire families during social gatherings (childrens birthday parties, Fourth Of July Barbeques, swingers parties, raves, whatever). The police think they have a serial killer on their hands and call in the FBI, who send in the BAU (in my fan fic, this would be the team from Criminal Minds, but in a movie it could be a bunch of Original Characters created for the film). Meanwhile, the Predator Elders send one of their own after the renegade poacher, sort of a "Predator Game Warden". He ends up forming an aliance with one or more of the FBI profilers (in my story it would be Spencer, but in the movie it could be anybody). Together they take down the poacher, and the Game Warden leaves the surviving FBI agents in peace.

Doesn't sound too bad, except for the alliance bit. The Predator "Warden" should be on his own, and take out everyone that is in his way. But he would work efficiently and not take trophies, so the Profiler would deduce that they have two killers on their hands. But he'd realize that this 2nd killer, is after the first one, and only kills out of necessity. And while they would try to catch both, his main focus would be to stop this serial killer.

AvP2 was just total, and utter ****. They made a slasher movie and put Aliens and a Predator in it. Seriously? Not to mention it was dark as all hell. AvP is nothing great, but it's tolerable. I don't know what's so difficult with making a movie based on those video games is. Colonial Marines, Predators, and Aliens, it's not bloody rocket science.

As for Predators 2, I'd love something historical, present, or futuristic. Just give us a nice group of people and a Predator hunting them down.

I love Predator 1, Predators is good, Predator 2 is decent.

That was kind of what I was thinking too, except I do kinda like the idea of an aliance. I was thinking of making the aliance happen during the third act, when both the Warden and the profilers are very close to closing in on the Poacher. Then when the Poacher is found, the profilers stand back and watch as the Warden and the Poacher go at it. At one point the Poacher gets the upper hand on the Warden and is about to finish him off, when one of the profilers intervenes (picks up one of their discarded weapons and attacks him with it, maybe even drawing his own service weapon and emptying it into the Poacher). The Poacher is injured, or at least distracted, perhaps even striking out at the FBI agent that attacked him. This gives the Warden time to recover, and an opening to finish off the Poacher. The Warden guts the criminal, then takes the body and leaves. Just as he's leaving, he turns and gives one of the remaining FBI profilers a souvenir, either an ancient weapon from Earth's past, or perhaps a piece of Predator technology. Or, perhaps kinda like they did in AVP, he gives the agent a scar marking him as an accomplished hunter. Something like that, just to give us a bit of a peek into the Predator's culture, and how seriously they take their Hunters' Code.

Yeah, main reason I never cared for that movie.

The Predators were insanely weak, and they were supposed to be high ranking Preds. A few sword slashes kills one of them...give me a freakin' break.

People may hate AvP:R but atleast the Predator himself was perfect in it.

Rumour has it, it's just a 3D Blu Ray release for the original.

If it is a film, Bring Back Brody! #BBB
